Chris Bosh on Johni Broome, Cooper Flagg and the state of college basketball

Twenty -one years later, Chris Bush is still sorry. Only one year after graduation from Georgia TechnologyThe yellow jackets went to the national championship, while Bush, then rising to Toronto RaptorsYou can only see support.
That game for the year 2004 between Georgia Technology and Uconn It fell in San Antonio, Texas. Bush finds himself again in that city, where he works with AT & T at the Fans Festival before the final 2025.
A lot has changed with Total basketball Since Bush played, however there are still a few similarities. Oporne He has a big man in John Brom That is similar to his game Bush. duke He has a trio of new students who suffer from the pressure that Bush faced in one season in Georgia Tech, and HoustonKelvin Sampson, his team’s coach, hired BOSH to play for him Oklahoma.
Bush touched on those stories in his interview with Fox SPORTS before the final Saturday:
Q: How are things in San Antonio? What do you do in the four final, and what is your specific role with AT & T?
bunk: Here I am doing an event with AT & T and with The American Professional League Hall of fame, too. The Hall of Celebrity always announces the celebrity hall in the next semester during the last four weekends. [AT&T has] She was always involved in basketball. It’s a great installation here. It is the fans festival at San Antonio Conference Center. There are baskets here. Children can play games. It seems like one of those wonderful places where you can hang out, and if you play basketball, you will be loaded.
Q: When you think about the four final and wait back in your career in college, what do you think?
bunk: Everything was very short. Funny story: I got a formulation in 2003, and in 2004, Georgia Tech lost in the national championship game to Uconn here in San Antonio. So, San Antonio is a city that I always return in the four situations or championship. It is a kind of madness.
Q: How many of your teammates are in this four final team? Did you feel you missed?
bunk: All of them. I left to go to the draft, and we had another man who was transferred, but he moved to Uconn. … Will Bynum, Jarrett Jack, ISMA’il MUAMMAD, BJ Elder – We had a really good team. It was crazy to see them, and I was ascending. I didn’t want to play with my friends.
Q: Do you think that if you are playing in this era, [is staying another year] Something you thought about?
bunk: I don’t know if I am thinking about it because the basketball was my dream, but I will say it is a really great choice for children who might want to go or do not want to go. If men spend a fun time – you receive their salaries anyway – you can return to school and get another year of development under your belt, or receive their salaries, and be more familiar with the system. This is one of the things that I missed because I was one, so I never received college or university life. If a person is good enough, or that the girl is good enough to go for two years or return if she wants to, I think this is great.
Q: Johnny Brom, you may see some of yourself in his game. What do you think of how to play it?
bunk: It is great to see how open the game. The ability to deal with the ball, play on the open floor, and freedom to do these things … to shoot 3. I think Johnny … in particular, take advantage of this freedom, right? The ability to come with an advanced game and be able to display it. Before, even if you can shoot 3s, you will have a coach like, “Yes, you will not shoot 3s. I am going to your seats. They have not necessarily played their strengths. I see much of that in the younger generation today. They are able to come immediate last.
Q: I was one of [few] It can do this in the American Professional League at a high level, so how do you think you have been able to set the table for more people in your position – like BROM – to get freedom to shoot from a deep?
bunk: I think he was not only doing it, but was effective in it. I have always looked at young people like Sam Perkins, Cliff Robinson, Tony Cocock, Dirk Novitzki – just going to the great players’ line who played the big situation – shot the third. I look at it as well. At the end of the tail of my career, I saw how the three ball was really developing the game, and I just wanted to enhance myself a little more in that conversation. I had no opportunity to do this along the way, but you can see the wave to come. Therefore, for players like Johni now, to just come and only be the one who plays inside, playing abroad, dealing with it, and doing everything, this is a great thing.
Q: Was this a problem with you? Have you ever had coaches who tried to prevent you from getting a more dependent game?
bunk: No, I was lucky. Now, I had coaches who said, “Play your strengths.
Q: Regarding Cooper FlageWhat do you think of the pressure of that-being one of yourself?
bunk: He has a lot of pressure to deal with him because I have already finished. I moved my country pressure. It was not necessary to worry about signing with agents. He still has a gift – a curse – playing basketball is now on a larger stage, but this is what you want. For him, he can stay in the region … until this season ended, but as soon as it ends, he will start the interview process with these teams, his training, and before, all of those things that you must go through. … I was in the same boat. You will play with your third team in three years; You will have your third coach in three years; You will move to a new place again for the third time in three years. It comes quickly, but this is what happens when you are older. It comes quickly and you [have] I got the adaptation.
Q: How do you try to stay at the present time?
bunk: Forcing you to. … you have no choice but … because, even in the draft, it may go to the first team, but you never know what will happen with the lottery and all of that. Therefore, it is a kind of small steps. It forces you to stay today because you don’t know what will happen the next day or the next week.
Q: Finally, what are you thinking about your choices on the next weekend?
bunk: I will not lie, it is difficult not to go with Duke. It is such a classic blue design. I know that Houston is in the old school, and PHI SAMMA Jama Dudes with the Jheri Curls will be released in large numbers. It is difficult not to go to Houston, man, they deserve one. Coach Sampson, I think he was training in college when I was recruited, so I like to see them get one. You know, Florida It is always strong and in that. Oborn, they are turning their program into something, so you know that I think if I would choose one, I go to Houston.
