The world’s oldest cheese sheds light on ancient Chinese culture

andOr more More than 3,500 years old, the Xiaohe people’s mummified remains were not bothering in a desert cemetery in Xinjiang, western China. Then, in 1979, a team of archaeologists obtained their hands. Among the treasures that they dug were mysterious white blocks scattered through the necks of mummies: pieces of the oldest preserved cheese in the world.
