Rameish Sibi Classic in 1975 will work on the festival’s open festival screen in Bayzuor, Bologna, which represents the first time that the masses have seen the original scenes that were previously deleted and that were cut from the theatrical version widely distributed.
It was written by the legendary duo Selim-Jaid, “Shulai” with brilliant movement, excitement, revenge drama, comedy and tragedy, all confirming the famous musical result of RD Burman. The film was inspired by Western classics including “once in the West”, “Seven Samurai” from Sergio Leone, and John Sturges “The Magnificent Seven”.
The story is followed by former police officer Thakur Balif Singh, who creates two young-Carismia and Jay-to seize Dakuit Gabbar Singh, who intimidates the village of Ragagra. The film features a group of actors including Sanjeev Kumar, Amitabh Bachchanand DarndraHema Malini, Jaya Badouri, and Magd Khan does not forget the role of the villain, Ghoba Singh.
Driving restoration, three -year collaboration between the Film Heritage Foundation and SipPy Films PVT. Ltd. , It brings the multiple stars to its intended shape. The film, which lasted for an unprecedented five -year in a row at Mumbai Cinema in Mineeva, was welcomed as the greatest Indian movie that was ever held in a 2002 British Institute poll and called “Millennium Film” by BBC India in 1999.
“Some things in life remain permanently engraved in your mind,” Bachchan said. Shulai “is one of these films.” “The shooting of the film was an unforgettable experience, but at that time I had no idea that he would be gathering of Indian cinema. His dramatic change in his wealth was to announce that it was an unsuccessful project, to run the standard box office, it was an emotional group for all of us.”
Despite a modest initial reception, a 204 -minute epic took control of the Indian box office for 19 years after its issuance. Her dialogues achieved her legendary position and immediately remained known half a century after half a century.
Darndra said: “Shlia” is the eighth wonder in the world. I am pleased to hear that the film is restored and I am sure that it will achieve the same success it achieved 50 years ago. Who can forget the dialogues of each character, become all of the roles. Dust and Thakur, but I was clear to play Veeru because I had a lot. [water tank] The scene, the scene in the temple, and a lot of the scene, but the strongest scene that I feel is the death of Jay, which is still engraved in my mind. “
The restoration faced great challenges, as the original negative camera has deteriorated. Instead, the team worked primarily from Interpositives located in London and Mumbai. A decisive penetration came when the color reflection broker in London contained the original end and two deleted scenes.
“We took three years, but we were able to find the original end and some deleted scenes that the world will witness for the first time in the first show in the first show,” said producer Shizad Sibi from Sibi films. “It was a work of love to revive the movie, and this is a honor to see and my grandfather’s legacy.
The technical restoration has proven complicated, as materials were obtained from both Mumbai warehouses and the Iron Mountain Mountain in London. The team was even consulting the veteran cinematographer Kamlakar Rao, who worked in the original movie, to determine the percentage of the width to 2.2: 1 for the intended image of 70 mm.
Chevandra Singh Dongperbur, director of the Heritage Film Foundation, reflected the importance of the personal project: “My first memory of” Shali “dates back to the time when I was six years old and I remember that I was tired because my mother refused to allow me to go to the cinema to watch the movie. I never imagined that after fifty years, I will be able to work to restore the film.”
The restoration is a technical achievement in preserving Indian cinema. “Sholay” was the first 70mm in India and the first Indian image with a stereotype. The recovered version includes elements of two chapters and average color reflection, with the final 5.1 audio mixture that uses the original magnetic sound elements located in the Sippy Films office.
The IL Cinema Ritrovato Festival, which is famous for the width of the restored classics, provides an ideal place for this first view of the landmarks. The Piazza Maggiore examination is expected to attract thousands of Cinephiles from all over the world.
