Sure, Jan! ‘Historian of Fascism’ Says Elon Musk’s Rally Gesture Was Belligerent Nazi Salute – Twitchy

Not even 24 hours into Donald Trump’s new administration, the first media hoax of his tenure has gone viral on social media. Surprisingly, the target of this attack was not Trump, but Elon Musk.
Why? Because while speaking to a crowd of people at Capital One Arena before Trump’s inauguration, Elon Musk made a gesture that all leftists pounced on, Calling it a Nazi salute.
Narrator: It wasn’t a Nazi salute.
But the left doesn’t care about facts or reality, so they run with this.
Among them is the “historian of fascism” Ruth Ben-Ghiat. We’ve told you about her before: she’s actually a professor of history and Italian at New York University self-described “expert” on fascism. Conveniently, she sees fascism only in things to Stalin’s right. Like bath soap.
She’s here to tell us that Elon’s hand gesture wasn’t just a Nazi salute, it was an aggressive one.
Historian of fascism here. That was a Nazi salute, and a very aggressive salute as well https://t.co/PB9sFCVJGA

That’s why they lost. They didn’t learn anything.
Here’s what actual Looks like a Nazi salute, Ruthie:
Let me shed some light on the difference
Note that in the actual Nazi salute, the arm simply goes up as Musk places his hand over his heart and throws it into the crowd pic.twitter.com/VEF7mUNJCs– Quintus Septimius Florence Tertullianus (@mwilliams433) January 21, 2025
X Users completely pulled this “expert” down for her idiocy.
That annoying voice you heard was all that was left of your credibility flying away.

Was she credible?
Yes, we Nazis were famous for saying my heart breaks for you, and that was basically what they were famous for pic.twitter.com/M56X89AMrm

That was their official logo, wasn’t it?
Oh, wait. no.
Thank you.
So is anyone else out there with me on finishing the humanities completely? Because if that was the best they had, we could get rid of them and enroll everyone in calculus.

This writer has a degree in English. Finishing the humanities.
Historian of morons here. Ruth is a moron, and a very aggressive one at that.

The lies were not detected.
Shockingly, a lot of Democrats are Nazis. pic.twitter.com/tEdrCiwr9o

Very shocking.
Madam, I have studied history a little too, but I will bow to your expertise. What is your fellow Democrat David Hogg doing here? pic.twitter.com/NAKotU3LgX
– Major 🇺🇸 🇮🇱 (@saltymarine80) January 21, 2025
It sure sounds like an aggressive Nazi salute, too.
Why is this (d) different, Ruth?
Please never change. pic.twitter.com/EbZl73vpx4

What do you think about this, professor? https://t.co/ioJH265Jmr pic.twitter.com/FiBp2bzCH0

We note that she did not answer these questions.
This has it all. Condescension, bland informal verbiage, reliance in the service of made-up stuff, credibility destroyed. Keep it up, I guess. https://t.co/MZrPYQ3CiF

Ruthie is in great shape.
Dated the clown’s tweets here. That was a clown’s tweet, and a very clownish one too. https://t.co/4Tdk8Yfe7V
