A US-Russian crew of 3 launches to the International Space Station
MOSCOW (AP) – NASA astronaut Johnny Kim and two of the Russian crew were successfully launched to the International Space Station on Tuesday on a Russian spacecraft.
The Soyuz enhanced missile was raised as decided by the Baikonur launch facility that was hired in Russia in Kazakhstan to put Soyuz MS-27 carrying the trio in orbit. It is appointed to the dock at the station, just over three hours later.
Kim and Russia Sergey Resikov and Alexei Zubitsky are scheduled to spend about eight months at space site.
NASA said that Kim will conduct scientific investigations and technical demonstrations to help prepare the crew for future space tasks and provide benefits for people on Earth. Born in Los Angeles, Kim is a naval lieutenant in the navy, the sea pilot, and the dual air surgeon.
Kim, Rezikov and Zubricki will join NASA Pioneers Don Betette, Anne MacLean, Nicole Aires, the astronaut at the Japanese Air Space Agency Takoya Unishi and Russian astronauts Alexei Ovchaneen, Ivan Wagner, and Kirill Peskov on Busti.
