When the Azadi director was five years old, her mother took her to take her picture to get an identity, and before she knew that, a scarf was placed on the head of the Navai and tied under her chin. In Iran, girls are legally required to wear the veil when they collide with adulthood, but parents often have their younger daughters to photograph a scarf so that the image can be used for years. In the short movie “Rizoo”, the pottery character finds herself in a similar position. Riso, eight -year -old California, lives in Iran with her family and is still recognizing the rules surrounding wearing a head scarf. She gets different instructions from her mother, her grandmother and her school, and we see that she is working to discover everything – she is very excited, because she needs an identifier in order to take a swimming class in a community center. “I have made” Riso “to see the ordinary Iranian life,” said Navay New Yorker. “I hope people will realize that despite the continuous discrimination and control in Iran, we find ways to bring joy in our lives.”
