Alencia Johnson Isn’t Just Flipping Tables. She’s Building New Ones.

Not only does ALENCIA JOHNSON – it redefines it. As a recognized strategic expert at the national level, cultural critic, and faith activist, she built a profession at the intersection of politics, culture and movement, and the formation of accounts that inspire people and challenge institutions to do better work.

Johnson’s influence on politics, media and advocacy extends. I worked in presidential campaigns Barack Obamaand Elizabeth WarrenAnd Joe BidenOften behind the scenes, moving conversations from margins to the main current. Its work is not only about vision – it is related to the transformation. While working as a director of public participation in family planning, she had an effective role in launching the pioneer Stand with black women The campaign, which has become a crowd cry throughout the country. From there founded 1063 West BroadThe Social Impact Agency named the title of her childhood home in Virginia, devoted to building strategy, culture and society for individuals and organizations committed to fairness. Its influence extends beyond political campaigns. As a required commentator, Johnson’s voice was shown via MSNBC, CNN and BET and in posts like Washington Postand essenceAnd here in luster.

Now, with the release of her first book, Declaration of tables: Daily disruption guide to find courage and make a changeJohnson calls us deeper. The roots in the biblical story of Jesus stirring over the tables in the temple, the book is a guide to the part, the challenge is part, and part of the spiritual account.

“My belief highlights me in my life, especially work to improve the world around me,” she wrote. “It is necessary for all of us to have some spiritual anchor.” At a time when the idea of faith is often distorted by white Christian nationalism, Johnson is Christian as a tool for justice, not persecution.

This spiritual clarity nourishes its criticism of the climate of the political day and companies. In an era in which many institutions fell under political pressure, Johnson refuses to remain silent. “It was disgusting to see many companies that act quickly to the executive procedures,” she says. “They forget the influence they have on the president.” Its message is not shaken: The proximity to power is not the same energy. The real power belongs to those who want to turn the table when the table itself is broken.

Johnson spent her career in doing this – tables, building bridges, and we all called to be more courageous, bolder, and more rooted in the purpose. with FlipShe only shares her story. We received a set of tools.

Magic: I want to start by separating “Red Science is you.” The moment you realized that you already have everything you need inside. In the era of continuous self-improvement-another painting, another book for self-help-it is easy to feel that we are always one step away from “preparation”. How do we learn, especially as black women, to trust ourselves and stop delaying our strength?

Alesia Johnson: I found myself thinking constantly, I can’t wait to talk to my treatment about this Monday at the age of five. Then one day I was sitting in the conversation of the church led by a mental health specialist who is a friend, and I thought, you already know that. You are just afraid to trust yourself. I will be honest – the treatment was out of my pocket. I was buying books, spent $ 200 a week on the advice I can give to my friends, but I couldn’t take myself. That was the moment when I realized: this is the place where real work begins. I was inside and outside the treatment most of my life, and I will return – it is a supplier of different seasons. But I couldn’t continue to use it as a crutch while telling others of confidence in themselves. I did not interfere in my own laws. I was the road barrier.
