Amid protests, questions loom about ICE at Club World Cup games

The Ministry of Internal Security said that border patrol agents will provide security for the FIFA World Cup match on Saturday between Inter Miyami and the Egyptian Club AHly at Stadium Hard Rock at MIAMI Gardens, Florida.
“Let the games start,” I wrote customs and protection of the American border in a social media post on Tuesday. “FIFA’s first World Cup games begin on June 14 in Miami, Florida at the Hard Rock Stadium. CBP will be suitable and equip to provide security for the first round of the games.”
The post has been deleted since then. But it included a reference to the “first round of games”, indicating that immigration agents did not limit their presence in the opening match. The championship of 32 teams includes six games in the first round of The Rose Bowl in Pasadina, starting from the Sunday match between Paris Saint -Germain, who won the UEFA Champions League and Atlético Madrid in Spain.
CBP agents, who work under the umbrella of the Ministry of Internal Security, do not provide security in the first place in the stadiums in the same way that local police or private security companies do, but they often participate in security operations in the period leading up to the main events, monitoring the airspace or helping to respond rapidly to emergencies. ICE officers, who are also working under DHS, are primarily assigned to identify and arrest individuals who violate the American immigration law.
So the possibility that federal immigration officials will be on the site in a major international football match less than a year before the World Cup returns to US numbers to eliminate a tense situation already.
“FIFA is working in cooperation with the stadium authorities and relevant government government agencies – whether it is local, feder, and state – to implement a detailed safety and security plan for the stadiums participating in the club’s World Cup.”
Three other international matches will be played in southern California during the next five days in Englo and Karson, but officials in both stadiums said that federal agents will not be present.
The Concacaf Gold Cup will also start on Saturday with Mexico played in the Dominican Republic playing at Sofi, but officials there said they did not change their regular security measures. One of the double gold cups that includes Panama, Jawatloub, Jamaica and Guatemala will be followed in the Dignity SPORTS in Carson on June 16, and a stadium spokesman said they would also use their regular protocols, in addition to providing a public protest area on the field.
Civil turmoil in southern California ignited convincing ice officers who carry out immigration raids throughout the region. The protests that followed the Trump administration prompted the sending of thousands of the National Guard forces and hundreds of naval infantry in the city’s streets due to the objections of the Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass, California Governor Gavin New New and other local officials.
No one at SOFI stadium did not talk about the record on security preparations for the opening of the Concacaf Gold CUP on Saturday, which includes Mexico, which is expected to attract a crowd of more than 50,000. But one of the officials who knows the situation said that the stadium follows “natural measures” and “ice is not part of these protocols.”
Security duties and crowd management are usually dealt with in the Sofi Stadium by local law enforcement authorities and the Contemporary Services Corporation, a private security company that has become its yellow and blue workers everywhere in sports and entertainment throughout the country.
The Mexican team was already scheduled to remain in a hotel in the city center before the match in England, but he moved to Long Beach because of security concerns.
When asked about the presence of Ice agents in the World Cup match on Saturday at the Hard Rock Stadium, where the Copa Americana final was delayed for more than an hour by fans who rush to the entrances, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said he had not seen a problem with her even though she was in depression to attend the match that was already struggling to sell signs.
“We live on any security question,” said Infantino. Of course, the most important [thing] For us it is a safety guarantee for all fans who come to games. This is our priority. This is the priority of all powers here.
“We want everyone who comes to the games to pass a good moment.”
