Andrew Cuomo enters New York City mayoral race

Former New York Governor Andrew Como announced on March 1 that he is running for the mayor of New York City, where he re -launched his political career after he was exiled for years due to a barrage of sexual harassment charges.
In a video clip announcing his campaign, Mr. Como put his return as a way to withdraw the city from the social and political crisis, while highlighting the moderate situations in the crime and its long history of political achievements.
“I do not say that this will be easy, and it will not be easy, but I know that we can turn the city and I think I can help and that’s why I announced my nomination today for New York City today.”
Democrat is expected to prepare a huge campaign, despite entering the race, which was deeply injured by the scandal that forced his resignation from the ruler’s office in 2021.
It takes a large field of primary opponents with low recognition of names in addition to the present, Mayor Eric Adams, who – at the present time – remains under accusation of federal corruption, and under the audit of critics who question his independence from Republican President Donald Trump.
Mr. Como brilliantly enters the donation, a record of achievements on his three prolonged periods as a ruler, and potential support between many moderate voters who helped push Mr. Adams to the mayor’s office.
However, it is unclear whether voters were ready to give Mr. Como another opportunity after his impressive fall 3/2 years ago, when he moved from welcoming his leadership during the Covid-19 attack until he was photographed by his behavior with women and interrogated his response to the item.
In the video clip of his campaign, Mr. Como admitted the past “mistakes” of his career, but he threw himself as an experienced leader who can link political gaps between the left and the right, and called for a government “that could take a position and accomplish matters.”
“Did you always do everything right in government service years? Of course not. Will I do some things differently knowing what I know now – definitely. Have you committed mistakes, some of them are painful? Certainly, and I think I learned from them and that I am a better person for that and I hope to show it every day.”
Mr. Como was about politics for years while he was fighting simultaneously to rehabilitate his image and undermine the allegations against him.
At least 11 women were accused of sexual harassment, which included allegations of unwanted kissing and touch, as well as noting their appearance and sexual lives, according to a report issued by the Prosecutor in New York.
Mr. Como denied the claim of sexual assault, who eventually decreased the public prosecutor on the basis that there was not enough evidence to obtain a condemnation in the trial.
As for his behavior with some other women, Mr. Komo insisted that he did not abuse their treatment intentionally, and he simply fell behind times what was considered an appropriate behavior in the workplace.
Tax motives spent millions of dollars to defend him and his highest assistants in the court against various lawsuits related to allegations. He moves to the prosecution of at least one of the accused for defamation.
The race has already contains many candidates competing to overcome Mr. Adams in the democratic preliminary elections in June. Among them is the city observer Brad Lander, the Senator in the state, Zelinor Miri, the state in the state, Jessica Ramos, a member of the State Council Zahran Mamdani, and former city observer Scott Stringer, who was in her race 20 years ago.
The main competing candidates, many of whom were picked up in the former governor of weeks, were rushed to wave the horizon on the race, quickly launching their own data that attacked Mr. Como’s record.
Mr. Adams also seeks to re -election, but he faces a storm on the criminal case against him, and the extraordinary effort of the US Department of Justice to end the case to objected to the prosecutors who brought the charges.
The indictment said that Mr. Adams, before the luxury travel privileges, along with the contributions of the illegal campaign from a Turkish official and other foreign citizens. After Mr. Trump took office, a senior official in the Federal Prosecutor’s Ministry of Justice in Manhattan was rejected so that Mr. Adams could focus on helping the president’s migration agenda, while opening the issue that could be returned after the municipal elections.
This dynamic prompted critics to claim that Mr. Adams had concluded a deal to help the immigration campaign for Mr. Trump in exchange for legal salvation.
Mr. Adams strongly denied such an arrangement, while he was facing strong pressure and possible removal from his position by state governor Cathy Hochol, a democratic. Some of the senior mayors have announced plans to step down in protest.
Mr. Adams, who caught on Al -Madinah Street by a political correspondent after the announcement of Mr. Como, welcomed the former ruler in the race.
“Come on, come everything. Everyone must put their position forward. I have a great record to run it. Mr. Adams said:” We look forward to the campaign. “
Mr. Como began the policy that works for his father, former New York Governor Mario Komo, after which he became the US Housing Secretary during the era of President Bill Clinton and New York General Prosecutor before his election in 2010.
The strength of its supreme national star during the Korona virus’s pandemic, when his daily televised briefing, full of clear discourse on the virus, attracted fans at the country level who saw him as a fixed hand for driving at a chaotic time. Al-Ahsat won the International Emmy Award and led to a book deal for more than $ 5 million to write “American crisis: leadership lessons from Covid-19”.
Nevertheless, women began to move forward in late 2020 and early 2021, accusing Mr. Como of misconduct. He faced a potential insulation before he was removed. The State Ethics Committee tried to no avail to obtain Mr. Como to abandon the revenues of his book deal after he decided that he was using taxpayers resources to prepare, publish and publish the book.
Mr. Como was more damaged by allegations that the guidance of his administration unintentionally contributed to a wave of Covid-19 deaths in the elderly care homes by initially preventing them from refusing virus patients who were discharged from hospitals. The ruler insisted that the allegations are unfounded, but his administration was later found that it was largely subjected to the number of the death of the nursing house as it sought to deviate criticism.
Mr. Como still has a major war box in the campaign that can be technically used in his attempt to may be. But the process of transferring his government donations to the city committee will be complicated and requires each donor to sign the key, which is an exhausting effort.
