Anker’s 58-liter solar fridge is a noisy power-monster

Anker pays the limits of transportation with the release of its giant 58 liters Solix Everfrost 2 Double region / freezer refrigerator. It is carried because it contains wheels, handle and holes for two batteries. But this thing weighs 64 lbs (29 kg) empty and quickly reached 120 pounds when I filled my review unit with drinks and food. It can be recharged from a standard wall socket, 12-volt car socket, a USB-C charger, and up to 100 watts of solar energy from a traditional or deny plate New beach umbrella.

The 58L model (about 61 quarries), which I was tested, has a much greater ability than the largest solar refrigerators that I reviewed from Ecoflow (38L) and Bluetti (40L) Both allocate a valuable space for integrated snow makers. As enthusiastic for Vanglever and cocktail enthusiastic, I’m definitely tempting before an idea It is ice on the road. I never do that, because water and electricity are of great value when moving away from civilization. Better bring the refrigerator that governs the ability to use in the smallest possible fingerprint.

Unfortunately, this is not what I deny.

Instead, ANKER is devoted to that space for two fans in each cover. All of this is part of the air cooling technology in the Everfrost 2 collection, which includes 40L and 23L models. Surprisingly, the 40l Solix Everfrost 2 is actually a little greater In length, width and high Bluetti 40L, although there is no snowmaker and a much smaller battery use.

In my test, 58l Solix Everfrost 2 definitely does what he is supposed to do. It controls the temperatures of the two regions independently from -20 to 20 ° C / -4 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit, allowing it to work as a large portable fridge, freezer or a refrigerator and freezing at one time. You can even turn off one of the negligent.

At a price of $ 799.99 for the cold battery and one battery during pre -sale, the 58L model is much cheaper than the Ecoflow ice river with its similar battery and costs a few hundred less than Bluetti Multicoler, which is charged with a much larger battery. It is less convincing when a list of $ 1099.99 is running.

I did not test 40 liters Everfrost 2, which seems to be a better deal at a prior price of $ 599.99 ($ 899.99 from MSRP)-however, like Bluetti, has only one cabin. Both Anker begins shipping on March 7.

However, you should avoid this if the noise, improve space, and energy efficiency are high in your fears menu, as it is in my country. My 58L review unit also starts a lot due to a problem with a hood sensor – pardon.

Goodness

  • Two regions of completely independent temperature
  • A relatively portable capacity
  • Recent access and control via a good application

Bad

  • It can be noisy in small spaces
  • Dabat vehicle sensor sensor
  • Hungry power

The biggest attraction applies with the 58l Solix Everfrost 2 refrigerator to all the coolers in the form of the bench: the location of the elements can be a problem where things accumulate inside. The two fortresses are on the largest ANKER model in particular, which makes finding things pain at the back when it is full. The insertion of baskets usually addresses this problem so that you can raise everything to find out what is under it. After my concern shared with Aker, the company’s spokesman Emeline Bonnefoy said that individual baskets will be available for $ 19.99 starting in May, or two for $ 24.99.

Everfrost 2 is cooled in air, which Anker is the first in this category of portable coolers. The refrigerator refrigerators are used in air fans to distribute temperatures evenly and accelerate the slowdown by up to 30 percent, according to Anher, compared to direct refrigerators that depend on a compressor alone. While unifying the temperature can be a problem with large -sized kitchen refrigerators, no noticeable problem has been created in the directly chilled small refrigerators that tested inside the trucks and RVS. In general, air cooling is also supposed to eliminate any need to remove manual ice, but I really see a lot of frost developing after only five days of operation.

The handle doubles as a table. On the left, all the items that I can suit in the refrigerator; On the right, all I can match the freezer, including homemade and store snow.

Everything fits, and the cabins are deep enough for wine bottles to stand in a straight position. But finding things on the bottom without baskets is absorbed.

In my test, Anker’s Everfrost 2 can be loudly compared to other portable refrigerators, and it is not particularly fast. It reaches a maximum of 41 dB (one meter) when cooling at the beginning, which is very standard for this category of coolers, and equivalent to standing near the space heater. This can be tired of the ears over time: it took 56 minutes until ANKER 58L decreases from room temperature to -11C -more than twice more than 38l Ecoflow when the same test was performed.

Everfrost 2 rotates and then ranges between 38 decibels for about 10 minutes and silenced for 10 minutes in order to maintain the specified temperatures – this is much higher (remember that the decibel scale is not written) from 33DB from the Bluetti and Ecoflow coolers. On the bright side, ANKER coolness does not produce any of the voices that hear from its competitors from its competitors, but I still do not choose Everfrost 2 if I spend several hours sleeping or working near it in RV, cabin, or boat.

Power Draw is another major when purchasing a portable refrigerator if you plan to remove the network for more than a few days. 58l Everfrost 2 has holes for two LFP 288Wh batteries. Ensar claims up to 104 hours of cooling from a pair or 52 hours of single battery, denial. In the battery -rated test, I set the unit at the temperatures of -18 ° C (-0.4f) for freezing and 4C (39.2f) for the refrigerator. Even in the more powerful power mode for “ECO”, I dried the battery in just 27 hours.

Both regions can be controlled independently using manual or application controls. Here, one parked area and the other is -18C (-0.4f).

Each cover has these giant fans with a valuable space. (Water drops from rain.)

I was surprised to find Frost in the freezer a few days later, although she was cooled in air. (Water drops from rain.)

The wheels provide enough traction and clearance to pass the sidewalk, gravel and dirt easily.

When connected to a standard AC wall cake in the default “smart” power mode, Everfrost 2 consumed 452 hours 24 hours, as its only task was to maintain fixed temperatures-never opened the covers. This is very thirsty. The smallest Bluetti consumed only 308 hours when I conducted the same test and consumed ECOFlow 394WH Cool, although it was doing thick energy like making several groups of ice. The largest Aker affects the withdrawal of power, but I think the company has also been killed on isolation. When the energy was closed, the ANKER temperature increased from -10 ° C to 1c in three hours, while the Bluetti cooler increased by -10 ° C to -5 m at the same time of time.

Finally, my review unit suffers from a problem that requires additional care when closing the right cover. Anker puts sensors in the covers that cause colds (and send a notification from the application) if any of the cap is open to more than 90 seconds. In my case, the problematic cover is so close, so it is not enough; I have to press down with firmness along the right side near the rear joint or will make a continuous sound for up to five minutes. I found frost developing in this field, indicating a problem with suitability. Anchr says that other auditors have not reported similar problems and will investigate the cause once the review unit was received.

Use the default “smart” power mode heavy heavy on the day when the unit has just sat down and never opened it. This screenshot is from the Ecoflow app that manages the smart plug.

  • The handle, which doubles comfortably as a table, feels slightly when walking over the rough surfaces with the full stored – I am concerned that it may not withstand over time.
  • Readings of cold temperature, within 1c of the reference thermometer.
  • The bottle convection is combined with cold.
  • Optional accessories can be purchased on the clip, such as bamboo table, cup holders, table tools and beach canopy.
  • The IPX3 classification means that the coolant should escape rain, but I would like to see “5” instead “X” given how ANKER strongly promotes these coolers to use on the beach.
  • The 58L model measures 38.8 x 18.1 x 19.4 inches / 986 x 459 x 493 mm.
  • Each battery can be taken out and used as a power station with one USB-A 12W socket and 60W USB-C.
  • Carry the battery from scratch to full in four hours of a home socket.
  • It supports 100 watts of solar inputs (12-30 volts, 8.2A), and not 200 watts like competitors-not operating the unit without inserting the battery.
  • The wheels can be held in place with the covered wheels holders.
  • The cold can be monitored and controlled on Bluetooth or Wi-Fi from the very good ANKER app.
  • You can buy a second battery for $ 199.99.

For its 799.99.99 dollar prior price, 58l Everfrost 2 is great if you really need 58 liters of the dual -portable cooling capacity, and you have easy access to energy, so you do not confirm everything that is consumed, and you will not spend much time next to it in the spaces The small where the drone may become a cooling lover is a problem.
