Counting down the 25 most memorable moments in Indy 500 history: No. 9

With the first Indianapolis 500 in 1911 and with 108 years of date (the race was not made during the days of the Virgin), dew 500 feet unfinitive moments.

No. 25: Jim Clark 1965 victory

No. 20: Mario Andreiti won 1969

No. 19: F1 heroes in the spotlight

No. 16: Willie T. Repez becomes the first black driver in the race
Willie T. Repes on four updated engines during the two weeks of practice and qualification to make Indianapolis 500 in 1991. With the support of actor Bill Cosby and the owner of the Hazem team in Derek Walker, Rebts became the first black driver to compete in the race. Six years ago, he came to Indianapolis in a deal with Don King’s boxing promoter, but the car never woke up.
Ribbs, a prominent sports car contestant in eight Indycar races in 1990, suffered another engine failure in the engine only in the race and ranked second in thirty -second.
No. 15: Janet Gutry’s race as the first woman in Indie 500
