The Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest annual marathon race, dates back to version 129 on Monday, April 21, 2025.
With tens of thousands of contestants and spectators expected to flood the streets from Hopkinton to Boston, the city and the surrounding areas will witness a huge turnout and a wide closure on the roads and millions of viewers who are controlling from all over the world.

The race is scheduled to start with a military march at 6 am EST, followed by the wheelchair of men’s moving at 9:02 am, the wheelchair of women at 9:05 am, manual studies and dualities at 9:30 am, professional men start at 9:37 am, professional women at 9:45 am, and the Athletics Department in Paragraph at 9:50 am.
What is the path of Boston 2025 Marathon?
The historical expansion course is still 26.2 miles starting in Hopkinton and ending on Boston Street in Boston. It passes through Angeland, Fermengham, Natick, Wilsley, Newton, and Brooklyn. It is worth noting that the path is characterized by the “distinguished” screaming tunnel at Wilsley College and Herbreak Hill climbing in Newton.
Close roads for Marathon Boston 2025
The closing of the wide roads will be valid via the marathon road on Monday, April 21, 2025. In Boston and the surrounding towns, many major streets will be closed early in the morning to absorb the event and ensure safety for the participants and viewers.
In Brookline, the Beacon Street traffic will not be allowed between 8 in the morning and 6 pm, and the infantry will only be able to cross specific intersections such as Tappan, Webster and Hawes Streets. Other cities will turn throughout the road – including Hopkinton, Angeland, Fermengham, Natick, Wilsley, Newton, and Boston – closed primarily along the 135th road and the Commonwealth Street.
Public transport adjustments are also present. MBTA will close the stations near the marathon finish line, including the Copley Station, suspend or temporarily redirect to several bus lines. The SUBWAY Metro and Metro Services will be operated on the amended weekly schedules with an additional capacity to deal with the increasing demand. Travelers are encouraged to use public transport and delay in the event of moving near the course.
