The Pennines Burnines has inspired Bruntty’s sisters, and now these lands are protected as one of the largest natural reserves in England.
A huge new natural national reserve, called Bradford Pennine Gateway is announced by the government on Tuesday. Bradford, one of the largest and most burned British cities in nature, will be given easier and more protected access to green spaces
The Bronte family lived in the nearby Haworth, and inspired the hills and the surrounding mortar the scene of novels including Wuthering Heights.
An area of 1,274 hectares (3,148 acres) is associated with eight natural locations inside the Bradford, South Benins region and other areas including Penistone Hill Country Park near Haworth.
The reserve will also protect rare wildlife like add -ons, kerlo and golden cover. Nearly 90 % of the region includes priority in the UK, including peat swamps, wetlands and wetlands.
Tony Junber, a chair Natural EnglandHe said: “The opposite of historical declines in nature and the transition towards environmental recovery requires larger, better and more joining areas to flourish nature. Opening this reserve represents an important moment in this journey, which represents a great achievement in our efforts to protect and enhance the natural environment.
“By working with local partners who provide the nature that can be accessed near urban areas, we strengthen a deeper relationship between societies and nature, and we encourage luxury and inspiration for the next generation to support the recovery of biological diversity.”
The government will work with the local council and other groups to raise the level of awareness of the reserve in Bradford and organize visits to the region.

The establishment of the Bradford Benin Reserve National Nature Gate ensures that these sites are protected and available to all in our region and beyond,” said Counselor Alex Ross-Shao, Executive Member of Renewal, Planning and Transport in the Bradford Council.
