Can AFC West’s ‘all-star lineup’ of coaches finally top Andy Reid and the Chiefs?

It is not often these days that Sean Baytone is the youngest man in a room. He was a major coach in the US Football Association for nearly two decades, and entered the US Football Association for the first time as an assistant in Philadelphia Eagles in 1997. The players who were coaching him, such as Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn, were experimenting with their American Football Association teams.

So, yes, the 61 -year -old Denver coach discovers a little in his current position as a novice state in his department.

Welcome to AFC West, where it is old – or rich in experience, to put it politely – is new again.

When Beit Carroll, 73, was appointed to become the new coach in Las Vegas Reders in January, to replace Antonio Peres, the absolute, raised the average age of coaches in the department to 65.5 years. There is no other department in the American Football Association with an average age of his four coaches, who reach 50 years. Each AFC West coach has already started his training career before any main coach in the South AFC arrived – where the overall age of 40.5 years has arrived at the middle school.

Western leaders met in the West to win 668 games in the normal season, five matches of Super Bowls and national college championships (Carroll won one of them, but was evacuated in NCAA violations). There was no section in which no coach has won at least from Super Bowl or a national title.

The AFC West team is now, as some of the most experienced coaches in this sport have been activated with a new challenge and coach: Andy Reed’s 67 -year -old and leaders in the section for most of the past decade. Perhaps the most vital explanation of domination: Kansas City has collected AFC West titles since 2016 (nine) of the section (eight) game.

There is no naivety from other coaches in the department about what mathematics change requires. But they are definitely not the type of group that shrinks from the task as well. They all had to slaughter the ideals to reach the peak of the profession. Payton outperformed the Bitton Manning Hall Hall to win in Super Bowl in 2009. Carroll did the same in 2013 – and it was one game away from Bill Beichick a year later. Harbau defeated Carroll to reach Super Bowl in 2012 – where he lost to his brother John and Baltimore Ravens – and Nick Saban was defeated on his way to a national title in Michigan in 2023.

There is a reason every coach was chosen to chase Red, and the American Football Association coach won.

“To fight against Andy, Shawn and Jimmy Harbo, this is what he should be,” said Carroll, the former Seattle Cax coach who had intense battles in NFC West with Harbau when San Francisco 49ers coach was fighting against Andy, Shawn and Jimmy Harbo. “For us to survive the challenges of this division, we will be ready for anything that comes. If you expect it to be easy, and you have got an advantage, I do not see it in this way. The more difficult it is, the better for us to be satisfied. The more difficult, the better.

This applies to leaders as well, perhaps more than any time since they were destroyed by division – and the league in general -.

Red and Baya’a has led Patrick Machoum’s charge as Cansas City since 2017. The rest of the department did not enjoy exactly the same continuity. In the same extension, the changer had six main coaches, including those who had temporary titles, and watched eight different players starting a game. Broncos made the course through five coaches and 14 cortresses. Harbau is the fourth trainer since 2017.

This makes 2025 different in AFC West. Not only did every coach in the team inherited – Payton and Carol have never won less than seven games since 2006; Harbau did not get a loser record as the American Football Association coach – but they also have the knowledge of the Gardbbeck rollers in their programs. Harbau will enter its second season with the Pro Bowl QB Justin Herbert, the beginning of the team since 2020. The two changes were circulated with veteran Geno Smith, who previously started in Carroll in Seattle, a huge upgrade from what Las Vegas was at the center in 2024. Red said.

Carroll added: “(Nix) exactly what they were hoping to be,” Carroll added. “I saw him from the opening match this year and he was not ready to be the man who showed that he was later in this season. He became a dynamic football player very quickly. A huge ability to be credited with Sean – building him and making him difficult to identify these men at times, and everyone has their own way of that and the results that everything is through, and how young people specifically do.

Of course, the department heads of the department’s enemies believed that they were prepared for real operation in the heroes before. Before the 2022 season, for example, Broncos was traded with the ROO Bowl midfielder Russell. The end result: The heads of the department won the exit and were not defeated in their six games at AFC West. Broncos (Nathaniel Hackett), Chargers (Brandon Staley) and Raiders (Josh McDaniels) eventually fired fire in their coach season.

Instead of searching for the upcoming SEAN McVay-SUPER BOWL, who is still only 39-I have chosen the competitors at AFC West instead something closer to ReID, at least in terms of his connection with the experience. “He is a great football coach,” said Reed. “He got this stability and has the record to go with it.

The Broncos team defeated Chiefs in the 18th week last season to achieve its first place in a nine -year -old match, a victory that came when Red settled for its main protests and reserves with the first class in the AFC already. After Broncos lost to Buffalo Bills in the first round of the qualifiers, Payton’s mind returned to Kansas City. In order to really compete in the qualifiers, the coach in logic, Broncos will need to host post -season games. There is only one way, Peton admired the organization, to win these.

“Our absolute goal next year is to win our division,” said Greg Pinner, the owner of Bronko.

Broncos is not the only outfit with an experienced captain looking for that award. There is a different kind of challenge when you prepare for a full time schedule for partitioning games against coaches who saw everything. But this will make the AFC West 2025 Crown all the conditions that you should gain – whether it is No. 10 in a row for Red Presidents or No. 1, finally, for another person.

“You have to go. You have to hit the ground,” Payteon said. “No one wants to hear your problems. We are excited about that. We are excited about this challenge.”
