Carlos Sainz Jr. and Williams F1 are ‘moving in the right direction’

Miami, Florida – Williams has a strong start for the 2025 Formula 1 season.

There is a great reason for this, according to Alexander Albon, is the narrow gap between him and his new teammate Carlos Science Junior that the narrow gap is partially due to the ability of Science to wake up quickly with his new team, and in a new car.

Talking to the media, including SB nationOn Thursday at Stadium Hard Rock Sainz indicated that he and the team “are moving in the right direction” after only five races.

“After spending good weekends after a few bad holidays, you need to learn how to apply good things, keep good things, and make sure to continue working on bad things,” said Sinz.

“And I feel this week [off] Help us understand this. I had a little cake with an engineer there, and yes, we seem to move in the right direction.

However, Sainz admitted that although the team is moving in the right direction, there may be some additional “bumps” along the way.

“I told them, and I think I have said several times, that we still have some bumps all the way in the adaptation process because you need to discover some things.

“Five races are not sufficient to discover the strengths, weaknesses or things that may stress you, but I think we are heading in the right direction and this is the important thing.”

Sainz also made the media only showed the amount of modification that is still ongoing, as it adapts to life in Williams after driving to Ferrari for four seasons.

“On every weekend I am still trying something different with preparation, and I seem to have tried in the last weekend something,” said Sinz. “If you continue to apply this philosophy for sure at some point, I will try something that does not work and I need to return, so I need more examples of this and perhaps what was working here and who may not work in Miami and I need to learn that and experience.

“After that with driving, certainly, I think there are conditions that I have not been with with this car yet, and the coach of uses and bumps that I have not yet tested with this car.”

Perhaps the most interesting comments came from Sainz when he talked about his transfer to Williams, and the translation Lewis Hamilton – his alternative to Ferrari – deals with it. When he was asked about Hamilton’s recent struggles, Sainz stated that they were not surprising, given the great changes he lasts for the driver when switching the difference.

“I’m not surprised at all,” Sinz started. “For me, I expected it myself and expected it with him.

“Because in this sport there are no secrets and when you are against two teammates, such as Alex and Charles [Leclerc] They know the team from inside. They are already performing the fullest that the car can perform, so that you can only do a little better or like them.

“You cannot suddenly reach and be faster twice or three times because it is not possible.

“They are already in the borders of the car, so when you jump into a new team and expect yourself and those around you to be at this level, you know, it will take some time and there is no secret.

“They know more than you.”

As with the situation in Ferrari, Sainz admitted that some patience may be needed for him in Williams as well.

“It will take some time and whenever you perform this operation and the more you are at this level, the better,” Sinz added. “But for some drivers, it may take longer or shorter time. Lewis had spent an amazing weekend in China. Then it seems that he is facing a little larger now, but it will take time to adapt the new driver.

“It is a difficult question because it depends on a natural how much the car comes to you. It depends on the natural relationship with the engineers and this mixture that comes.

How long will this process take? It may bleed until 2026 according to Sainz.

“I have always said it to know a car well. You need at least half a year or a year to try everything with that car,” Sinz added. This does not mean that you cannot perform during that year.

“If you manage 100 % or 99 %, you are 99 % may still be good.

“But 100 % definitely there.

“There are things you need for half a year I would like to say.”

Williams reaches Miami with 25 points throughout the year, where he ranked fifth in the ranking.

Just imagine how it can look like Sainz gets the time you are looking for to adjust it.
