Cleveland’s Kenny Atkinson wins NBCA coach of the year award after leading Cavs to 64-win season

Kenny Atkinson from Cleveland was announced on Saturday as the winner of the National Basketball Coach Award, after he led the Cavaliers team to a season of winning 64 singles in the eastern conference qualifiers.

The American Professional League will also give the Coach of the Year award in the coming weeks. NBCA has made a separate prize since 2017 called Michael E. Goldberg, the first executive director of the organization.

It is voted by 30 league coaches. NBCA does not issue the total voting, but it revealed that four other coaches – Detroit Bakestaf, Mark Digenitel from Detroit, and the former Denver coach, also received votes. Malone was launched by Nuggets with three remaining matches in the normal season.

“Kenny Atkinson has long been respected by his peers as an innovative and modest sergeant for the game,” said Rick Carlel, the Endana Bespers coach and NBCA president.

Cavaliers team achieved the second best record in the league this season, behind Oklahoma City, and the second team in the league history has three winning lines from at least 12 games.

“The basketball game was a great journey to me and my family, and that it be recognized by my colleagues to get a good job this season is very modest,” said Atkinson. “It was a pleasure to train some amazing players over the course of my career and I will not be in this position without their commitment and sacrifice for the greatest good for themselves and Cleveland Cavaliers.”

The American Professional League will be issued in the coach of the General Coach – along with the final candidates for six other awards – Sunday night.
