Cologuard Classic continues to raise awareness for overlooked killer

Tuscon, Aric. A few weeks ago, Brian Getyle, who is the Director of Da`wah for Micro Sciences, the company that facilitates the Test of Colonia received a message that he left unable to speak.
The individual who sent him this observation has colon cancer in the fourth stage, which has now spread throughout her body and in her brain. I went to hell and return, lost sleep and wondering whether the rest on that night would be the last – all of this while working in endless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. However, she is still alive, fights every day and works as a hero for countless others. She is attributed to her medical team to save her life over the past three years, but she told Goettel that Cologuard Classic has survived her alive. She is still here today because of this event, and it is a fact that left Getelle confused.
It was held annually in the south of Arizona since 2018, Cologuard Classic on the Pga Tour Champions More than just a golf tournament for the best players between the ages of 50 years and over. It is an agreement for survivors of colon and patient cancer, who befriends each other, sharing their stories, and insulting all concerned, players and treatment to admirers alike. More than 350 colon and survivor patients descend to Toxon this week, as many of them compete in the championship supporting the championship-countless professionals were unable to
“the [Pro-Am] It is not about me to prepare to play a golf championship, but rather it is not even a matter of golf course. I didn’t even collide with any additional Pots, I did not. Jerry Kelly, the tournament host, who turned his passion and its cause and killing this week, said there should be for the sake of the survivors.
We had two [survivors] In our group today, and this means a lot for me to be able to give them something because what it goes through and those who lost, I mean, it depth you deeply. In order for you to have there, you must have smiles all the time and make sure they have more enjoyable they can have a golf course, which can occur in a golf course. They may not see all of this with us. It is really special to be with them. “
Each golf player in this 78 -man field wears a blue tape this week, which celebrates the individual who continues to fight or lose his battle with colon cancer. Stewart Cink, for example, honors Steve Dimeglio, a prize -winning golf journalist He surrendered to colon cancer on January 1.
Kelly, at the same time, honor more individuals than he could name. But this is a fact that embodies the exciting reality of this disease: since Kelly began hosting this event seven years ago, four colon cancer patients have played with in supporters since then. One person lost his battle just weeks after reformulating it with Kelly.
“We played in March and went by May,” Kelly told SB nation.
Kelly, born in Madison and Wisconsin, had a friendly relationship with the CEO of Sciences Exactly for years. Conrroy also descends from the region, so the two have a joint bond for their love for Badger.
In 2017, when Kelly reached 50 and joined the PGA Tour hero, Conroy collided at a airport. Conrroy was on his way to a funeral for the individual who moved from colon cancer while Rob Andrping, the best friend of Kelly, received a diagnosis of the same disease. The two are associated with their joint calamities and pledged to try to do something about it.
The following year, the signed accurate sciences as the sponsor of the Cologuard Classic and Kelly pledged to support its case by increasing awareness of colon and rectum diseases. He also started wearing a Cologne hat and hosted this tournament since then.
“I don’t think any of us could have dreamed in 2018 that we would be here in our seventh year to do so with nearly 400 colon and survivors,” Getelle said.
“Some of these people have not been shot on a golf course before. Golf in the background, but at the same time, which means that these individuals see their name on a tape worn by a player, whether they follow the golf game or not, with a deep meaning.”
He also practiced the month of colon cancer, which is a time to support the American population to support those affected by this disease, but they also have discussions about colon cancer examination.
“People were examined,” Kelly confirmed.
“At the age of four and the eldest, our mission is our mission to raise awareness of every person in the nation of the examination era. Why not do that?
The American Cancer Association recently dropped the recommended examination from 50 to 45 years. But Kelly thinks that if this decree was in his place a decade ago, he would remain his best friend today.
“One of the survivors will be examined in 45, but why are you waiting for up to 45?” Kelly asked.
“I just saw a 27 -year -old and received a fourth stage diagnosis, like,” Why don’t you make it 25? “My mission is to get a little over the box and put some things that must be really said to pay this campaign, and to pay the call below the line as much as possible.”
A group of colon and rectal defenders is heading to Washington, DC this week, to submit a petition to the federal government to reduce the life of the examination. They also hope to raise awareness about this disease in the country’s capital, which will help save an endless life.
There is a need for change because colon and rectal cancer is a killer that is ignored: it is the second most bloody cancer in the country, and it only leads to breast cancer.
Nevertheless, Kelly and everyone in Toxon still hope for these pressure efforts.
But there is something ridiculous about the course in which this tournament is played. La Paloma Country Club, which is located in the slopes of the Santa Catalina Mountains, hosted Collonard Classic for the first time last year, when Joe Durant won the title. Given that Toxon is about 70 miles north of the Mexican border, the second largest city in Arizona has a lot of Latin and Spanish influence. Do not look beyond the name of the course itself. La Paloma is translated into a “pigeon” in Spanish, and the dove has been a long -term symbol of hope, love and renewal.
This is what the classic Colonunard aims to do: not only to raise awareness but give patients and survivors hope. However, a healthy dose of hope will not be possible without early discovery. Get an examination. Tell your loved ones. Tell your friends. Otherwise, you will also be affected by this murderer who was ignored.
