Duolingo is getting a chess course

Duolingo will be able to help you learn another new skill: chess.

The new chess cycle of the short puzzle platform will be used, such as moving the knight to the right place to practice its L -shaped movement or examining a king stuck in a corner, to help teach you the game. You will also be able to play “Mini-Matches” or full games against the Oscar Duolingo character, which acts as your coach through lessons.

Duolingo gave me a brief display of chess on a recent video call, and it appears to be a lot of fun. The team’s approach was to “make chess available as possible,” says the director of Duolingo Group Edwin Bodge Products. freedomAnd the course will provide lessons for a wide range of skill levels so that people can jump at any level of familiarity they already have for chess.

Chess joins topics such as music and mathematics That does not depend on the language but still can be practiced via Duolingo. I asked whether the company is planning to build courses on other games, and employee program engineer Sami Siegel says that “although we are not facing any plans to participate at the present time, I think we only see how this launch goes and then we will go from there,” says Sami Siegel.

The chess course is launched in a pilot test on iOS in English, according to Monica Earl, Director of Public Relations at Dollingo. Earl estimates that within four to six weeks, more people will be able to try it, after which he will go to Android and be available in other languages below the line.
