Emilia Romagna Grand Prix: Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes F1 hoping to take a big step forward Saturday at Imola

According to Mercedes, the rising driver, Kimi Antonelli, was “effective” in analyzing data overnight and making the necessary changes to increase performance the next day.
Antonelle may need to put it in a few hours before Saturday in the Grand Emilia Romania race.
The rising driver ended the first training session in P13, focusing on the soft C6 compound, which for the first time this week in IMOL. During the second training session, Antonelli operated a mixture of C5 and C6 Soft tires, but his time was good enough for P18.
“I fought to put everything together on the individual mold today. There were some errors on my side and did not make low fist conditions perfect for the performance of the C6 complex. On the other side, I felt satisfied in the long run with the car that provides a good comprehensive balance. Report.
However, Antonelle was able to think about his first race at home. As it was observed on Thursday, the 18 -year -old driver brought his school classmates to this week, and he felt energy and support from his home fans throughout the week.
“It is clear that this is a truly special race for me. During that first lap in FP1, it was surprising that all these fans in the runway and along the track are. It gives a lot of energy, and when I was put in my tribe, I am ready to accomplish the mission.” Thank you to everyone who was next to the track today chanting the team; I look forward to seeing this support during the weekend.
Andrew Chovlin, Mercedes Engineering Director, found silver lines in both Antoni, as well as his ability to make required changes overnight.
“Kimi was effective this season in the analysis of data overnight, and we are sure that tomorrow would be more positive. In the long run, it was strong, which heralds good on Sunday, although the C6 boat looks difficult, as it was softer than we used last year,” Z chaven pointed out.
On the other side of the garage, it was a more clean day for George Russell, who finished fourth in both FP1 – when he also focused on the soft C6 compound – and in FP2, when he ran a mixture of medium and soft tires.
“The field was really narrow today in both sessions, with a few well unexpected teams. As expected, the McLares was at the forefront the standard of the standard today,” Russell said. “They are likely to be the candidates to control the pace tomorrow in the qualifiers; our goal is to hope to get them.

The team also brought the first “mission” of aerodynamic upgrades to IMOLA, and Chovlin stated that the new ingredients were working as “expected”, which is a “encouraging” sign of the team.
“We have made the first important Aero updates this week and it seems that it is working as expected,” said Chflin. “This is encouraging and gives us a solid platform we can build the rest of our weekend. It is also the first time we have with the C6 Pirelli complex this season and this leads to a somewhat unusual program.”
Mercedes engineer also highlighted the competitiveness of the field this season.
“Like most cars on the network, we operated two groups of the soft complex in the FP1, focusing on one roll performance. George’s pace was the place we expected, consistent with his previous performance on Friday. Kimi still has a little work to do it overnight on his one pace, but the comprehensive picture seems promising.
“The field is narrow, and we will do our work during the night to know the pace that we can offer to the final practice. When this is competitive as we saw today, every hundred can make a difference,” he said.
Antonie and the rest of the team will return to the track for the third and last training session on Saturday, before qualifying for the Great Emilia Romania race.
