Constipation can leave children mentally scarred for life | Children’s health

Your report and quotes in this from Professor Monica to Talabol stress the health burden and the personal misery of youth and their families due to constipation and relevant complications (The rates of constipation for children in the primary era by 60 % in England, February 18). Meanwhile, the services needed to prevent or treat this problem remain completely insufficient throughout the United Kingdom.

Unless constipation is treated early and effectively, some children can quickly develop “Megarectum”. They lose the feeling that may give them the desire to defecate when necessary. This, in addition to the behavioral problems inherent in this symptom, can exacerbate the pollution and smoothness of chronic stools.

When things reach this state, it requires a team of doctors and therapists for months or years to help treat them. In most parts of the United Kingdom, these services are not intended for resources or absent from it, so the problem continues indefinitely.

This was never discussed. The child lives in a secret state of shame. It is socially isolated and a natural childhood privilege. They are hesitant to participate in activities such as sports or schools, or even visit others’ homes. Even if the problem is solved, some of them collapse psychologically for life and are unlikely to achieve their potential.

While there is no doubt about the many contributing factors mentioned in your report and the article published with it (Handicrafts and diapers: How schools deal with constipation in students, February 18), The focus appears to mention the importance of exercising or the pre -influence of the hours you spend sitting in front of the screen, and is often alone in the bedroom.

It is difficult for parents, more than that since the epidemic, but there are basic tasks that they should not fall behind unless there are barriers that require additional help. The toilet training is one, as well as dislocation of clothes and eating in socially acceptable ways, regular and meaningful communication-even before birth. The number of parents pasted on the phone instead of communicating with their child is anxiety and depression, and it can only have harmful effects on the development of young people.
