For the fourth year in a row, Farmers insurance is open It ended Saturday, avoiding conflict with the NFL Asian Championship Sunday. NFL fans should hope so Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs Producing more fireworks than golf fans have ever seen at Torrey Pines — although that shouldn’t be a difficult task. The final round on the South Course turned out to be a slow round, with the final group needing five hours and 29 minutes to finish their rounds.
Fifty-four hole leader Harris English held on to win, playing consistent golf on a challenging day to win the fifth PGA Tour title of his career. He made a few bogies early, dropping shots on the first and fifth holes to give plenty of hope to others. But after bouncing back with a birdie on the par-5 sixth, English closed with 12 straight points to remain at 8-under par for the tournament and win by one.
Andrew Novak matched his score as they made the turn, but faltered down the stretch with two bogies on the back nine. Novak, who has yet to win on Tour, looked a bit shaky at times, showing his inexperience at this venue. Meanwhile, English looked as calm as ever, hitting right ball after right ball to secure the win.
