Five Standout Features From MIFA’s 2025 Pitching Sessions

Annecy animation festival It is filled with unmatched events, from the first international offers to specialized boutique shows.
Near this list or at the top of this list, there are MIFA stadiums, where what INDE managers and producers of all over the world are offered for the future of animation. An event that is carefully monitored by almost every present, and it has been proven that the sessions often are the hometown of real animation.
It was initially divided into four categories – films in feature, short films, TV series, special shows and overwhelming experiences – MIFA forty birthday also celebrates the addition of a fifth category dedicated to animated documentaries.
In the category of feature films, 12 films this year was chosen in MIFA of at least 201 candidates. The displacement in MIFA can be proven, in front of the teams for ten minutes to dazzle potential partners, distributors, investors, sales agents and broadcasters alike, a great value for such projects.
The 1998 “Kirikou and the Sorceres” feature was shown in MIFA in 1991, while “Heirloom”, an Indian feature that was presented last year at the same event, is now part of the status in the field of conclusion, with the support of a German co -producer.
Finally, not another, a Latvia cat created by Eindy’s director, who turned to Gentes Gentes Zealpalis, was introduced in MIFA stadiums in 2021. Four years later, “Flow” wrote a new chapter in the history of European animation.
Below is our choices for five projects that have emerged from this year’s choice.
“Acorn” adventure
Philip Musk
Acorn adventure
What if the children themselves formulated animation? This idea prompted director Philip Musk to create “ACORN’s Adventure”, a wonderful CG project with a wonderful way with forest characters designed by the bold imagination of nature loved ones.
Keido, a boy made of walnuts, appears in Ratinland, a village that is deeply hidden in the forest where everyone seems to have a pre -determined purpose except for it. Suddenly, the vital resource of the village, resin, is attacked by an unknown ring of thieves. Therefore, Kowido declares himself the hero and starts on an epic mission to save the village alongside Darville River Marie Mary.
Twinous characters such as the mayor of luxury boxes or villagers who are characterized by the individual appearance filling the charming project, which has been built so far under the careful scrutiny-which you think-children.
“This story revolves around acceptance and finding who you are,” Makek explained. When he was a teenager and leader of the scout, he was always surprised to know the stories that children could create with branches and blues. Make this story in life with the same items and the same energy echo with it as well as the Annecy audience.
Using an unrealistic motor and mixed mixer technology with advanced photography and movement capture, the Czech GERMAN production production brings a joke to Annecy, along with the second draft of the text program. The project is looking for participating producers, broadcasters, investors and sales opportunities.
Participant producer, Christina Hosova, concluded that their main goal is to enhance this creativity and imagination. “Our main desire is to run the kindergarten directly to the forest and use their unlimited imagination to create their ACORN adventures.
“The crocodile dance”
Shufila Cocker
Crocodile dance
Annie/Emmy Shovla Coker nominated (“Kizzi Moto: Morey”) and Nadia Dariz (“Star War: AAU Song”) Annecy’s audience of professionals with “Mami Wata”, a 2D-CG Hybrid Hybrid movie that brings West Africaan Tale of Mami Wata.
When the ancient water gods threaten its town, Rukia, the silent music, must restore her voice to break the curse of generations and save herself and her family.
Coker and Daries managers describe their experience in upscale environments with Nigerian style and southwest of the African style to create an advantage of constipation in high -end environments with the Nigerian style and southwest Africa, as they described their project as “an excitement and a classic monster movie with a love story in its heart.”
Music, a major element in their project, will take viewers from Afro Pots to traditional Nigerian music, from Afro to modern dance. As a narrator of musical stories, Rukia focuses on the healing capacity of music and dance. “Crocodile Dance” is currently under development and comes to Annecy in search of funding the gap, common products, sales and distribution.
The design of impressive characters and strong animation shows a real experience for managers “supported by Lucan Studio in South Africa and Nigerian Coker Coop.
In the conclusion of the stadium, managers Coker and Darries stressed on the Roukia Road to understand its fear would be a key in this narration. “Instead of slaughtering the dragon with a sword, fear and perhaps, one may move like water and learn to dance with him, from fear does not bother the sea.”
‘Dreamwalker’

Dreamwalker
Vivi Film (“Les Tripletes de Belleville”, “The Secret of Kells” and “Titina”) and the “Dreamwalker” Souza studio. Since her condition turns even the simplest daily procedures into a painful challenge, she begins to grow away from her friends while trying to know who is the mysterious boy who still appears to her in her dreams.
The experience of the difference in this lush two -dimensional moving project is shining, as director Rudi Mertens and producer Verl Ablemans revealed the exact and steering graphic tests. In this heart attack on friendship, Lucy will learn to embrace her condition and find a new meaning.
Through the final text program, harsh preconceived paintings, beautiful character designs and amazing backgrounds, production has already received development grants from the Fanders Audiovual Fund.

MIYU Productions – which includes two films in the Ansi competition this year, “Death does not exist” and “Oilion” – returns to MIFA stadiums with the second Simon Ruby feature. Nine years after his first movie “Adama” won an award at Annecy, Ruby, with the producer and his friend, presented Emmanuel-aale-free Raynal, a CG project targeting family fans, which Ruby described as “Red Riding Hood in Himalayas.”
An idea that he followed since he had to re -tell his own version of the well -known popular story as part of his training on GoBelins/Calarts, Ruby was lucky enough to accompany a geological trip in the famous mountain series. “Where I only saw the rocks, these geologists saw a story,” Ruby explained, complaining about a journey that allowed him to cancel his story with realism, and seize the essence of these rocky landscapes and remote villages.
“Pangea” tells the story of Chesa, a little girl who can predict earthquakes. After one of them weakens her village, she leaves to ask for help from her grandmother, who lives as a herst in the mountains. While searching for the origins of its power, Cisa discovers that the earth is shaken by the dark teeth, the people who do not have a land feeding on anthropology. Payed by their growing hunger constantly, they are digging on the ground and rushing to the continental drift, threatening the world, Chisa, and its grandmother is striving to protect.
Rouby’s and MIYU’s experience apparently combines as a strong project, with impressive visual images and great humor that collected Annecy’s audience. The project, which is already supported by CNC and many regional funds for its development, is looking for additional partners.
