Glencore’s Hail Creek coalmine methane emissions could be higher than official reports – video | Environment

Unpredictable research has found emissions from the strong methane of greenhouse gas coming from Glencore’s Hail Creek Coaline between three and eight times higher than the amount officially. Two planes with different types of monitoring and flight equipment have looked at different altitudes from methane columns coming from Coalmine in the Boen Basin in Queensland – a site highlighted in a previous study as a major emitter. Glencore challenged the results, saying in a statement that it had “big doubts” about the research, claiming that it used “data that is not present”.
