Gong baths and a naked sauna: my search for inner peace at Glastonbury | Glastonbury 2025

The search for calm in the least calf in the world can lead you to unexpected places. On the day of Glastonbury in bread, sitting in a 90C sauna is surrounded by ten naked strangers.

My journey started on Friday. While Lorde plays a secret role in WoodSies, I finished in HumbleWell – a fairly smaller tent – with 50 people who could not pay attention to pressure. We lie on the mats and the blanket grass, the eyes are closed, the breathing deeply, and the legs move in complete harmony under the orders of the yoga teacher, Dina. Air soundtrack distracts many voices outside the competition for our attention. If this is not for a bucket, you will not know that you are in Glastonbury. I am weakening the child’s position and feel a deep feeling of release.

Many people do not come to the farm worth peace and calm. It is, after all, a place where a perceived load appears around the clock throughout the week. I left two noisy children at home, and as I look at a lot of loud music and dance, I also need some cold time. I risk guessing that most of the attendees are a little eager from calm at some point during the weekend, if it is between hours from 4 am to 7 am, when the distant third stops and the camping of the camp.

Fortunately, there is an inner peace that can be found. EURT, adjacent to the yoga category, is filled with exhausted people who are immersed in the contemplation that affects the need. It gives the softness of the session, Dan Peppiatt, a nice encouragement and plays a selection of tools to the audio tape recorded in The Cornish Woodland where he lives outside the network. Sometimes, Aran Burton joins a selection of manually carved wooden psalms. I am about to drift when someone accidentally raises me.

“We offer people to stop,” says Peppiatt after the session. “Many of them come to have a few.” “We will return tomorrow,” says MJ Asceenzo, who came to the festival of Manchester. “It is the perfect start for today.”

On a relative hill, a series of bright colors is a shaded place for some comfort. I attract myself to one person, and the man has erased me with envy: he has the correct idea, the word with the eye mask and the hearing of noise. I try to relax, but every time someone starts from a swing, it seems as if I was about to pick up.

My next station is the healing fields, and Og from Glastonbury Wellness. Here you can try Tai Chi, join a coordinated lyrical collection or sample of a group of massage and treatments. I eat some falafel, and resist the desire to get the Taro reading and stop a moment to stop in the neighboring peace garden, which at noon calmly-maybe in the middle of the night, given its proximity to the haven late at night.

At a corner of the Tipi field, I find people really leave. Lost Horizon, “SPA Nomadic”, was a 15 -year -old essential player. Submit a sauna in Yurt, decisively, and after that, visitors can buy one entrance, or a day or weekend pass (15 pounds sterling/30 pounds). Bathing on the site can include a long waiting list, so this is a smart investment.

However, the sauna is a challenge on a hot day. And worrying, this is a clothing area. On one side of the area, there is a huge trampoline, where naked adults jump. Jenna Brockelore runs from Somerst the sauna, and tells me that last night they hosted a roof in my orange.

“It is a haven.” “The oasis of calm in a crazy experience often.” The partially supplied band provides entertainment for spa pioneers, many of whom lying in the garden between the sessions, achieving the maximum benefit from a slightly feeding atmosphere. “This is not what I expected,” says Carroll from Bristol, who loves to try something new every time. “It is a little grass with individuals that smell of sweat.” She recommends a laughing yoga separation experience, although she believes she got Covid to do this here last year.

When I enter Sauna Semi-Clad, I wonder seriously about my life options. But then, the choir of green fields rotates, and those who sweat inside. When I go out, I feel fresh and renewed – and I am very grateful for cold shower.

Alanis later sings: “I never felt this health before.” I go to the Gong bathroom and fall into a deep sleep. You can find peace in Glastonbury – you just have to look at the right places.
