Good Samaritans rescue woman from attempted carjacking in N.J., officials say

Three good Samaritans – including two army soldiers – saved a woman who was attacked during an attempt to theft Camden County officials, New Jersey.

The accident is revealed on Thursday around 8:30 am on the Jackson Road near the intersection of Wiferley Street in Watford. Police said a man, who was later identified as Rondian McDonald, 45, drove his car outside the road and crashed into a wooded area. Police said that a 59 -year -old woman was driving her car by stopping and tried to help. Then McDonald opened the side door of the passengers for women and entered her car, according to the investigators.

McDonald asked the victim if she could lead him, but she refused, according to the criminal complaint. The police said that when the woman tried to call the number 911, McDonald grabbed her phone and threw it on the ground. When the woman asked him to get out of the car, McDonald attacked her, scratched her and put his hands around her neck, while strangling her, according to the criminal complaint.

Joseph Nazik said he witnessed the attack as it was continuing.

“She stood on her home, but he was struggling with her,” Nazik said. “The seat belt has been arrested around her neck. He withdraws while raising her arms just screaming,” driving! “

Nazik said he jumped to try to help the woman.

“So I took his wrist while trying to free it from the seat belt so that she could get out,” Nazik said.

Investigators said that two military men – both the reserve soldiers in the army, one of them is the Philadelphia police officer – also noticed the attack and also jumped. One of the men used a fire extinguisher to storm the driver’s side window and remove McDonald from the car, according to officials. Then they seized it until the police arrived at the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital in a stable condition. Meanwhile, McDonald was arrested and charged with several crimes, including theft and leadership while poisoning it
