Here’s who might succeed Doug Bruno as DePaul women’s basketball coach

Depaul announced on Friday morning that Doug Bruno has long been stepping down 39 years after the Blue Devils leadership. He leaves his position with 786 wins, and he is the eleventh most eighteenth of all women’s basketball coaches in the first section.

Bruno, 74, trained DePau for a short period in the mid -seventies of the twentieth century before leaving to train Chicago Huste in the Basketball League for short -term women. After the league dissolved, Bruno was the assistant to the men of Liola Chicago for several seasons before returning to Depol in 1988 where he remained in this position during this season.

During a period of nearly four decades, the Blue Devils led, Depaul became a medium generational power with NCAA, and then continued to win when they joined Big East in 2005. Large East Championship Five times.

The Blue Demons was ranked in the AP TOP 25 poll for 221 weeks while Bruneo was a coach, as he ranked seventh in the 2010-11 season. Bruneo also had 15 players formulated by the WNBA teams, including All-Star Allie Quigley.

Bruneo also won two gold medals as an assistant coach for the United States of America in 2012 and 2016, and he was recruited in the Women’s Basketball Hall in 2022.

He missed most of this season last season. He will remain in Depaul as a special assistant to Vice President/Director of Athletics for Women’s Basketball.

Depaul now has a late training vacancies of the Carousel course, but many in sports view it as a great work.

“Dyin Bevi is a star as a sports director,” one of the factors told SB Nation. “He will get a great coach and support them. Depaul is the best remaining job and I can claim it is the best job that has opened this course – it may not be close.”

“The facilities are good and the salary is expected to be strong.”

Multiple sources told SB Nation that Depaul is also committed to placing revenue sharing money towards women’s basketball as soon as the settlement of the house passes. By the lack of FBS Football, DePaul – and other large east schools – may have an advantage in the era of Parliament. The settlement will pave the way for the first section programs to exchange revenue directly with athletes for the first time. While schools with FBS football teams will pay most of these resources towards that sport, it is likely that the institutions that basketball have not given men and women will give the largest piece of revenue sharing pie.

“I think this can be, and perhaps it will be, an advantage for us.” I told Office Sports. “We do not have football revenues, but we do not have football expenses either.”

Duke Sports Director Nina King Tell Yahoo the sport: “In the Great East, the basketball revenue sharing part will be more than those who have football programs in the first section can do.”

For example, the era of revenue sharing can make large jobs more attractive than they were five years ago. The Big East got only two shows in the NCAA championship this season – and let’s be honest, every other league plays second place Uconn – But its image can change with the investments of the teams more in the sport, which in turn may lead to a decline in more talented players and winning more games. Bruno knew how to get talented players, such as Aneesah Morrow, but he could not compete with what SEC programs like Lsu She was providing firmness for nothing for her services. Sharing revenue can make the stadium a little.

“It is a great opening,” another agent told SB Nation.

One of the sources said they expect DePau to rent a sitting coach.

To you who may be in this mix to succeed Bruno.

Bart Brooks

Brooks was an assistant under Bruno’s leadership for 11 seasons before he worked in Palmont, where he collected a record in training from 197 to 67 in eight seasons-with a percentage of 74.6 victory. Belmont was transferred to four NCAA championships and won 21 or more games in each job season. His success in the Belmont alongside his knowledge of Depaul and a relationship with Bruno makes Brooks a strong seizure.

Carly Thebolt Dodonis

Thibault-Dudonis is happy in Fairfield where she went from 74 to 22 in three seasons and took the effect to successive NCAA championships, but at some point she is likely to move and test themselves in a tougher league. Many Power 4 sports managers have contacted her over the past two years about holes and politely rejected them. But because of the way Depau supports and investing in women’s basketball, this job may be attractive to her.

Carrie Moore

Moore, who has just led Harvard to his first appearance in the NCAA championship since 2007, is known for the well in the Middle West, after playing in the west of Michigan – where NCAA led the registration as an adult in 2007 – then worked as an assistant coach in Creton and Michigan. Moore also worked for several years during the era of Courtney Bangart in Princeton and then in North Carolina. It has been described as a talented recruitment, and at the age of 39, one of the best young coaches in this sport. Under watching this year, Harvard University has achieved its best season in more than a decade.

Irene Dicrson Davis

Dickeerson-Davis from Chicago, who played in Northweestern, and is a former Big East coach, so she is familiar with the landscapes that Depaul works. As an assistant in Georgetown, four players will become all -east choices. But Dycson Davis is an attractive training candidate at the present time due to the success she achieved in William and Mary this season, as the tribe led to the first NCAA berth and his first victory in March, and Hai Point was topped in the first four. Simply put, Dycson Davis just won-in its third season only-in a place where he was not a coach before.

Christine Gilsby

About three hours south of Depaul, Gillespie has accumulated a lot of victories while Redbirds. Gilsby-who played with Kayu in North Carolina-155-94 in eight seasons in Illinois. In 2022, they led them to the first NCAA appearance in 14 years, and in 2023 she won the regular season conference and Missouri Valley Coach of the Year. Gillespie has been linked to the openings in Wisconsin and Missouri, but this may be best suited to it. Also, her father Mike played in Depaul alongside Bruno in the early 1970s.
