Improving the patient experience can pay dividends you may not expect

As with any industry, it is important for health care organizations that they are consumed by their services. What drives their participation and what are their pain points?
During the epidemic, hospitals and health systems witnessed the speed of digital health and virtual care programs. This provides confidence and lessons to inform a more approach to presenting a more digital patient experience that calms the frustration areas – with no interference in what is really happy with patients.
ED Mitchell has strategic experience Digital patient experience programWith internal support, it also benefits the care and health system. He is a strategic partnership manager, at Advocate Health.
Mitchell, who was previously working in Meditech, will talk about this topic in an educational session entitled “Launching a successful experience for the patient” in Himss25. We talked to him for a preview of this session.
Q: What is the comprehensive topic of your sitting, and why is it particularly related to health care and health today?
A. The comprehensive topic of our sitting is to enhance the patient’s participation, especially focusing on children’s education. By improving the patient’s education through participating strategies, we can enable patients and families with accurate and accessible information and reduce wrong information.
This not only benefits patients by enhancing a better understanding of their health conditions, but also supports doctors through automation and simplified workflow, allowing them to provide care more efficiently.
For example, the pediatrician once shared a position as one of the parents, who was affected by wrong information on social media, was convinced that their child was diabetic after watching Tiktok video. Although the parent’s concern was understandable, it emphasizes the urgent need for reliable, evidence -based educational resources to direct patients and care providers.
By setting the priorities of the patient’s participation and teachingWe can treat these gaps, ensure better results for patients and reduce the burden on health care providers.
Q: What is the basic technology that you will discuss and how it is used in health care in the context of your meeting focus?
A. The initial technology discussed is the XEALTH DIGIOTAL Health platform, which is used to help integrate digital resources into EPIC, the electronic health records system used by service providers. In the context of this session, Xealth acts as a digital health platform that manages the arrangement, monitoring and data flows of our digital health programs, with a smooth incorporation with our EHR to provide the patient’s information and resources.
Specifically for this use, Xealth automates the delivery of materials to patients based on the type of visit, directly from within the eHR workflow. This process enhances the patient’s participation, simplifying the patient/communication, and ensuring timely access to important health care content.
In the context of pediatrics, Xealth technology helps to treat wrong gaps and knowledge by providing accurate and digestible resources directly to parents and care providers. For example, the goal of directing parents is far from relying on uncommon sources such as social media, instead provided reliable materials through health system platforms, and better enhancing improved understanding and results.
Q: What is one of the various fast food that hopes that the attendees leave his Himss25 your session and apply when they return to their organizers to their organizations?
A. One of the main main meals that I hope will leave the attendees is that simplify technology options and reduce technical debts not only to save costs.
More importantly, these efforts open greatly Opportunities to enhance the patient’s participation By taking advantage of improved experience design strategies. This approach enables both doctors and patients, enhancing better results and providing more efficient care.
The Mitchell session, “The launch of a successful program for the patient”, is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 4 March, at 1:30 pm at Himss25 in Las Vegas.
