Karlovy Vary Film Festival Revamps, Expands Industry Section

the Karlovy varies the Film FestivalThe Day of Industry Program, which works from 6 to 9 July, has undergone a renewal and a longer day in previous years.
The program will have an abnormal focus on joint production in Central Europe, and the eastern promises platform has undergone an update. It also expanded its scope with new shows and events for the development of a small screen and the series. The festival presented a population incubator from the popup, including five original European chain.
“We believe that we have a unique opportunity to enhance our site as a pioneering event in the industry designated for central Europe, a region that also includes creative powers such as Poland, Germany and Austria, and deserves the focus international attention,” said Kryštof Musta, CEO CEO, said.
“Our goal is to serve as a central center for producers, directors, broadcasters and platforms from Central Europe, along with the global industry professionals who want to participate closely with this vibrant region.
“In recognition of the increasing intersection of storytelling through various media, the elaborate days of industry now have the ability and vision to adopt this entire development.”
Central Europe to take the central theater
The most important innovation is a new format dedicated to displaying film projects in making. Previous works in Progress Pitches will be replaced with a “more dynamic” display and an exhibition of the central and eastern central stage that focuses on Europe, an initiative established by the Film Industry Office at the festival in cooperation with the National Film Institutes in Austria, the Czech Representative, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovakia, and Slovinia.
This will be shown 13 fictional films by filmmakers known from these countries in the late stages of development, in production or after production. Instead of traditional stadiums, projects will be presented through interactive conversations, with a focus on filmmakers and a joint production scene in both participating countries.
“We have chosen this new coordination because it deals with a real gap in the scene of cinema in Central Europe. There is great support for emerging movie factories throughout Eastern Europe, but medium film makers often lack the lights and resources needed to secure them, although their projects are registered,” said Hugo Rosak, head of the Carlovi office, who differs in the field of industry.
The central stage will be shown on July 8.
Small screen, big aspirations
There is another pivotal development in this year’s industrial program, which is the expansion that exceeds fictional films to embrace the content of the small screen, which has become possible through a new partnership with European Central media companies. There will be a program for events consisting of shows, paintings, workshops and talks by players and the main experts on the small screen that will take place in July 8 and 9.
“With CME support, the festival can now fully realize its capabilities as a place for the main meeting and a small content platform on the screen across Central and Eastern Europe. Instead of competing with existing specialized events, this initiative enhances the unique Karlovy projects in promoting international connections and providing an ideal environment for presenting and developing TV projects and developing them alongside traditional cinema.”
Punic incubator
A vital part of the new focus on the small screen is the Pop Up Series incubators on July 8, a new program for developing the series designed to support European producers and the script book by strengthening their projects through practical development, expert counseling and financial support.
The eight -month program is organized by Tatino Films. This differs in Karlovy with the promotion session where creative teams will present the series concepts of industrial and decision -making professionals, followed by coordinated matches with professionals who are looking for funding or production chain.
Matteo Daras, CEO of Tatino Films said:
“This” this IP adaptation game “is often intended for big players, but the pop -up chain wants to create opportunities for audiovisual talents that are not necessarily in the orbit of the international giant such as Banijay, FreeMantle or Medreeman, in any cases that reach new stories, and so, we believe that there is room for more Niche and/or an innovative series.”
