Kenza Dali: ‘I will tell my story after the Euros. A lot of lies have been told’ | France women’s football team

“I went through difficult times, and this team really brought me back to my love and motives for football,” says Kenza Dali, about Saint Diego Wiv, as she is preparing to open up in a troubled year.

Throughout a fresh, sincere conversation, the midfielder reveals the reason for her departure from Aston Villa to move to the National Women’s Football Association (NWS) in January, and details about the reason for enjoying work during the reign of Jonas Edelval and discussed, for the first time, the sadness that affected its participation in the Olympic Games. However, there is one theme that you are not completely ready to go to the details yet.

The 33-year-old, who had 76 capsules for France, was one of the three-star stars-alongside former captain Wendy Renard and Eugénie Le Sommer-when he was named after the team coach Laurent Bonade, his team in the European Championship. Dali is clearly sad about the situation, but he does not want the war of words to distract her from her citizens while they are preparing for the tournament. “I will tell my side of the story after the euro, for only one reason – because I have a lot of respect for my teammates to put the spotlight on a decision that is difficult to accept because I think there are a lot of lies,” she says.

“I really hope to do a good job. I have a lot of respect for the shirt to put out my side from the story now. I know it will be everywhere and that they are preparing for the euro and I do not want to disturb that. But it is difficult for me because I was playing some of the best football.

Daly has a good reason to feel proud of her shape since moving to California. She was a major player in San Diego this season, helping them start flying. The wave is second in the table, a significant improvement in the tenth place in the last chapter, under the supervision of former Arsenal Director Edfal, who was appointed as a main coach in January.

“When I fell on San Diego, many people thought I was crazy,” she says. “They were like:“ They spent a terrible season last season, and the environment is not great. ”I heard a lot of things. But I wanted to see my own eyes and that the work of the people behind the scenes was incredible. The employment was really good, and Jonas’s appointment was a big difference as well.

“The funny part is, I heard a lot about Jonas in England and not always nice things. When I joined San Diego, people were like:” What are you doing? She is going with Jonas! “But I really enjoy the way it works.

Daly continues to express how much coffee is enjoying on the beach along the Pacific Coast after its pleasure in England with West Ham, Everton and Villa. Her mood is good, which contradicts last summer as she was competing in a household Olympics that feel upset after family bereavement.

“I lost someone I was close to him, a member of my family,” Dali, who scored in France’s victory over the group stage over Colombia in Lyon to help them reach the quarter -finals.

“I don’t want to say who, but this really affected me. The Olympic Games were very difficult for me because this person was in all national team games.

“I didn’t want to play the Olympic Games because I was sad and this happened two weeks ago. My teammates convinced me to stay, Herve Renard [France’s coach at the time] It was amazing to me. I ate with the team and participated in training and meetings, and then I would see my family. So the Olympic Games were really difficult. “

Then she returned to her club. “After the Olympic Games, I got a vacation, because of my circumstances, then I got to a villa. I was really happy to return but the new manager [Robert de Pauw] “You don’t want me there,” she says.

“I still do not know the reason, but he made it clear that he does not want me there. So I was like:” Wow, this is a shock “because I was really looking forward to that [returning to] villa.

“I waited until winter. Then they changed the manager again [to Natalia Arroyo after Shaun Goater had briefly been in charge on an interim basis] My contract was until the end of June, so I went directly to the club and said I was staying even if the offer was from San Diego huge [because]For me, it was a villa at home. But I did not feel that the club wanted me to stay. They didn’t make me feel that I was a priority anymore. “

“I really put San Diego everything for me to come, and after all that happened to me, I really wanted to be in an environment that I could.” Dali added. This is a completely honest answer that I never shared. Jonas really wants me. He explained to me playing the match and where he sees me in his system, and convinced me. I had other offers, but I picked up San Diego. I am happy because I did that because I enjoy football again. “

Daly, who helped France reach the semi -finals of the Euro 2022, not only enjoy playing with San Diego, but on a wider scale, playing in NWSL: “The huge team is the fact that every team plays for a title,” she says.

In England, I started thinking about the league: “I will do my best to finish the first five. “The first four never changes in America.

“When I start a competition, I want to win the largest possible number of games.” “I prefer to lose 5-0, however [know I] I tried to stop the bus and give up three. This is not my vision of football.

“Our first goal here was to qualify for the qualifiers, but, as a group, we want a lot. We are somewhat step by step. It’s a completely new team. With 11 new or more players, what we are doing now is unbelievable. I think we have the team to compete for a big thing.”
