Lando Norris settles for P4 but loses Drivers’ Championship lead in Saudi Arabian GP

Lando Norris entered the Saudi Grand Prix race in the Saudi race with his teammate Oscar Pastari in the drivers championship.

But a crash in the third quarter on Saturday put Norris on his background, and the McLaren driver wrapped from the tenth line when the lights came out in the Jeddah Corniche circuit. Norris began on the solid frame – unlike the rest of the top ten who all started in the average complex – and went long, and chose multiple places in his lengthy work. He inherited the lead in the lap 30 after all the leaders stopped, but in the end he settled in fourth place, slightly over the second behind Charles Licertrick in third place.

It was another strong recovery campaign from the McLaren driver, but it was not enough to stick to his progress in the drivers championship. With PiaSSTRI winning before Max Verstapen, NORRIS now tops the table, with a feature of ten points.

“This was difficult,” Norris admitted When talking to the official F1 channel. “This path is difficult, and this temperature is difficult and it is flat. There is no savings on the frames here, it is flat from start to finish. I was suffering – not in terms of physical, but only in terms of getting enough advantage over the rest to return as much as I wanted.

“It was good to get Charles and have a little platform and drink all champagne now because I love it – or that apple juice would be better. I dream of that.

“But I think it was the best we could achieve today. It is clear that we are not a head and shoulders above the rest.”

After that, Norris admitted that he was not only looking for a break, because the network has a week outside in front of the big Miami race, but it makes life difficult for himself at times.

“As Oscar has shown, he is not an easy race. Maybe Max might have won if he had no penalty. We have these types of cases still. It’s not easy races, and this means only that when he made mistakes like yesterday, like some other races because I don’t get what I need, I make my life very difficult like today.”

“I’m still happy. I’m happy with my return. It’s the best I can achieve and now I am looking forward to a break.”

As for the place that needs to be improved, Norris referred to Saturdays. As we saw on Saturday in the Saudi Grand Prix, this additional risks inside the car can lead to a disaster, especially in a path that punishes errors such as the Jeddah Corniche circle.

“It is Quali, it’s the days of Saturday that are not good enough at the present time, and the pace of one snapshot. As I said before, this is because I suffer a little from the car-it wasn’t on Saturday the car, I was just trying to bear the risks, so I just got back,” Noris continued.

“Obviously, I got the speed and everything there. Sometimes I try to ask for a lot and sometimes I feel a little bit for a little more and I want to put the most perfect roll together and only need to calm down a little.”

Now Norris returns to Miami, where he won his first winning winning race a year ago. The circle will look a little different from what it was in 2024, There will also be a McLaren runwayA section of the fans sitting together to honor the team, and win it in the grand prize race.

Will this help a little “calm”? We will discover within a few weeks.
