What is this?
A secret research research plane has been developed by NASA by Lockheed Martin Skung Works for the low air agency protesting project. By using a tight and narrow plane structure, X-59 capable Reducing the noise that reaches Earth One of the resulting sound mutations when the plane crosses the speed of sound.
The cockpit comes in X-59, an excavation seat and an umbrella from the T-38 “FALON” and landing equipment from the FLCON. The X-PLNE search plane is 100 feet (30.4 meters) and has 29.5 feet (9 meters).
Gen. Electric F-414 engineX-59 is expected to reach the maximum speed of Mach 1.5 or 990 miles per hour (1590 km/h), and cruises in Mach 1.42 or 940 mph (1510 km/h) at 55,000 feet (16,800 meters).
Where is she?
Although X-59 thought it was high above the ground during simulation tests, it was actually Stop at the Lockheed Martin’s Skung Works facility In Baldel, California.
Why is it amazing?
“The idea behind these tests is to drive the sub-systems of the plane and the aviation computer to work as if they were flying,” said Johann Lin, the leading electronics engineer at X-59 at the Armstrong Research Center in NASA in Edwards, California, in an interview with NASA.
During the test, the engineers operated most of the aircraft systems but left the engine. The flight computer still controls the X-59 control, as it responds to the inputs that simulate the changes in the height, speed, temperature, or the health of their various systems.
“These were simple maneuvers, nothing is very crazy,” said Lynn. “After that, injection of the plane to see how it will respond. Will the system be compensated for failure? Was the pilot able to recover?”
Historically, this work is known as the “Iron Bird” test, which was called a simple metal frame in which the representation of the plane’s sub -systems is installed, connected and examined. Since X-59 is unique, officials have decided that it was better and less expensive to use the plane itself.
As such, the “Aluminum Birds” exercise chain was named, because this is the primary metal that includes X-59.
