Exclusive: After a competitive bidding war, Lionsgate I closed a deal for the novel Lloyd McNeel’s last trip by Litch willand Garrett Bastch Appointment to the production of the film’s adaptation. The book will be published by Harper in May. Litch will serve as an executive product.
The story revolves around Lloyd McKenil, who has just learned to have months to live. He also learns that 20 years of age as a policeman in Atlanta did not earn him enough money to take care of his teenager, the bishop, after he went. But when Lloyd discovers that the benefits of the police will increase significantly if he dies in the duty line, it comes with a plan: Lloyd begins to throw himself in a situation that threatens life after another to try to kill himself in order to provide his son.
Many buyers were in this mixture including Imagine and Sony. James Maires oversees the Lionsgate project. Dan Friedman negotiated the deal on behalf of the studio.
