MacOS Tahoe 26 hands-on: Spotlight changes and Liquid Glass everywhere

At WWDC, the new Apple announced Liquid glass design language, Which comes to all its devices, including MACS. I was dealing with MacOS Tahoe 26 Beta on M4 MacBook Air for about a day. To date, aesthetic changes range from spot to slight, but search features in the new Spotlight are great and useful.

There are new touches of glass transparency all over MacOS 26, including Dock, Finder, Widgets and Apps compact. It is more accurate than iPhone, mostly because real estate on the largest screen is much Mac makes liquid glass elements more like dialects than dialect Whatever this chaos is supposed to be. I am not very fond of it yet, but maybe you will grow on me, like user interface changes.

It can distort the oral sidewalk and disguised what is visible behind it.

DOCK now has a more transparent installed background than the SEQUOIA plane design. The frozen fog glass aesthetic also extends to the needs, such as the calendar and weather, and the drop-down lists-although the latter has a much higher associate. The popup of the size and brightness is now using this deformed glass look, although it has moved to the upper upper corner of the screen instead of focusing it over the sidewalk. Frankly, they are ugly, and I find their new horizontal look strange and strange.

Surprisingly, the menu bar at the top of the screen is not visible now, so it no longer measures the cut cut with a dark gray bar. Initially, I found this a little, but I quickly adjusted to it, just as I did the first time I saw the MacBook a barrier. It is mostly harmless with a bright background showing its limits. (If you really hate you, you can enable “reduce transparency” in the access list, restore the full menu bar, and kill all other transparent effects in Tahoe.) The wonderful thing that the invisible menu tape enables the new animation: when you three fingers to control the task, the glass shell is receding from the top and the stock exchange of the stock that walleath occupies. It is a group of bags, but it is one of the few effects in Tahoe that tickle me.

Tools now live on the desktop instead of requesting criticism of the notification center, allowing you to fill your desktop with a lot of retail information such as the main iPad screen if you choose. Open the Finder window and see more Tahoe round design, as the sidebar is similar now like a long long interrelated window. The dark mode and light mode shows some differences here, as the light mode settling the Windows Finder is a little more than its dark version, which looks more glass for me.

the Topic controls That was launched with iOS 18 is now in MacOS. It allows you to open the appearance menu to change the general appearance of Tahoe (light, dark, cars), color discrimination, icon patterns and imposed. The correct (or wrong) mix of these settings can significantly change the MacOS look, from minimal to fixed.

More exciting for energy users are the changes that follow the lights that make your Mac run by the keyboard alone. Spotlight Search now gives you shortcuts to find files, launch applications, implementation procedures, and access to the history of the portfolio. Press up orders and space to Spotlight as always, but now if you move the search bar with the mouse, you offered four icons for these new jobs, with each use of a useful keyboard.

Now this is highlighting: by clicking on the matter or the Keys of the number 1, 2, 3 or 4, you can quickly access the applications, files, shortcuts and portfolio. After that, you can write everything you are looking for or trying to do. Application staircase can be an classified launcher. The files put suggestions and accountability at the top. The shortcuts allow you to write the jobs you want to do through compatible applications. The portfolio is a reverse time history of the latest things it copied.

I really like the ability to set outdated fast keys. For example, I set “M” to be the fast key for a message, and “TM” for a temporary set. Each of these procedures requires writing part of the claim, such as the number of minutes in your temporary or the contents of the message and the recipient. But if you want to use a lot of keys and navigate the application with the tab and alternative keys, you are likely to feel at home.

It was many readers Fast for comment That is Apple “Sherlocking” Rafeast. Raycast is the most customized and expansionist alternative. It can make mathematics and unit transfers, appoint time control devices, and it has the history of the appendix, and BoneIt also supports third -party extensions. Although the changes in MacOS Tahoe allow the lights to infringe on some things that Raycast can make, they are not completely expansion. At least, not yet. Raycast is an energy user tool, and it may take Apple some time and a lot of development to beat these users.

I was using the first Tahoe Beta developer for about a day. There will be a lot to get to know MacOS Tahoe where developers continue to use in the form of the current trial version and provide Apple more updates. The general experimental version does not come until some time next month, and Apple is likely to take out some major changes and user interface modifications even before.
