76ers shut down Joel Embiid: Knee injury ends former MVP’s season as team determines treatment plan

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Empid 2024-25 seasons has ended. The team announced on Thursday that Embiid had been excluded during the remaining period of the season because it is “unable to play.” Previously, Embiid and Sixers were trying to manage pain and swelling in its left knee, which required surgery in February 2024.

In 19 games this season, an average Embiid reached 23.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
