Microsoft launches a new login screen for more than a billion consumers who reach services such as Outlook, Windows, Xbox, Microsoft 365 and more. The updated authentication screen depends on the Microsoft Flunet 2 design language, but rather includes a dark mode in Xbox colors.
The entire authentication process for Microsoft accounts is improved as part of this design, with the greatest focus of authentication without the password. “Our new UX has been improved to try a password and passing first,” Robin Goldstein saysDirector of Microsoft Product Management Partner. “We have reduced the number of concepts for each screen to reduce cognitive download and accelerate the authentication process, in addition to rearranging some steps to flow logically.”
The most simplified design also includes the features of light and dark, which are automatically enabled based on your device’s composition. “The first place to see this will be on game applications,” says Goldstein. “Other consumer applications will support the dark situation in the future.”
Xbox users will start seeing a new login experience on the web and mobile phone, and full updates will be displayed on the authentication screen during March and April. Web and mobile apps will get the new user experience first, followed by Windows applications.
This new design is limited to consumer profiles, so there will be no changes to Microsoft Entra and school accounts. “However, lessons from these improvements give the teams of valuable visions to update the Microsoft Entra and Microsoft Entra account experiences in the future, including a common login screen for applications that support authentication through both Microsoft accounts and Microsoft Entra accounts.”
This new login user interface is likely to be linked to Microsoft plans Keep you automatically, log in to an account. The program giant sent notifications to Outlook.com users about changing a possible account in February, but Microsoft later revealed that this was an error and edited an article on Microsoft’s support indicating that it maintains an automatic accounting accounts unless you register out or use private browsing. We are still waiting to hear when these additional additional changes will be made.
