Marner was the fourth year of the 2015 NHL draft by MAPLE Leafs, and this choice was worth the first round given his production every season. But as Toronto continues to search for this final range of the Stanley Cup, the main contributing will continue to start a new chapter elsewhere in the league.
The Knights team, led by veteran coach Bruce Cassidy, won his cup during the 2022-23-23 season, just six years after his opening season as the expansion excellence. They have already gone to the Stanley Cup final during the 2017-18 campaign under the leadership of Gerard Galen.
Vegas went 50-22 last season, but eventually had the same fate as Toronto, and lost in the second round. The Knights team fell on the western conference at the Western Center Edmonton Oilers, which fell to Florida Bansat again in the Stanley Cup final.
