NASA has successfully completed the test on half of the Nancy Grace Roman spacecraft – a basic step in ensuring that this observatory is performed in the future as expected as soon as it reaches the space.

Jack Marshall, who leads integration and test for this Roman space telescope Elements at the Goddard Space Air Center in NASA, Greenbelt, Maryland.

“Then we will complete the remaining environmental tests to assemble the flight before moving to connect the main Roman groups and operate the full observatory through the test, then we will be ready to start!” He continued.

It is expected that the launch will occur at one time in early 2027. However, this timeline in the air can be like the White House Plans to reduce the NASA budget In 2026 Cutting 24 % severe -The largest in the history of NASA-on major projects such as Gateway Moon-TERENT face station and MARS, will come out of a sample, among other things. It was previously released “Carbon’s Documents”, which also describes the potential fiscal year budget scenarios for the White House, will be provided by the Hubble Space Telescope and the James Web Space, but not other telescopes. However, the agency is still waiting for a final budget.

Currently, the engineers continue their work on Roman. Once again in January, before the thermal test began, the engineers tied the deacon of the telescope that resembles the edge called “Publishing Wisted Cover” to the group of external telescopes, which will eventually include its strong tools. By March, they also added a set of solar panels test.

In April, this entire setting was transferred to simulating space environment at the Guudard Space Center in NASA in Maryland-a giant room that simulates the cold cold temperatures that the Romanian will face in space. It should be noted that the aforementioned back documents have suggested that the potential discounts in the White House to finance NASA may witness that the Guydard of the Briders Rirag is fully heading.

The Trump budget plan for 2026 will cancel the task of Mars’s return in NASA. Experts say this is a “big step back”

Experts were anxious as the White House suggested “the largest one -year clip to NASA in American history”

“The test is verified that the tools will remain at stable operating temperatures even while the sun is one of the observatory and the other is exposed to freezing conditions – all in a vacuum, as it does not flow easily as they do in the air,” said Jeremy Perkins, one of the astronomical tools working in the field of Roman integration.

Once Roman comes out in the orbit of nearly a million miles from Earth, there is no easy way to send astronauts to fix it. For this reason, NASA engineers are working tirelessly to make sure that everything is published and works without a defect. There are no other chances.

Technicians are preparing to deliver the two main sections of Roman in November. Once it joins, the telescope will formally become an observatory that has been fully assembled by the end of the year. After the final test is completed, Roman will be filled and shipped to the Kennedy Space Center in NASA in Florida to start preparations in the summer of 2026.

NASA scientists say the task remains on the specified date, although they are working hard for the possibility of players early in the fall of 2026.
