NASA said on Tuesday that it might bring Boch Wilmor and Sony Williams – astronauts who were launched on the first Boeing Starlener’s crew and stayed at the space station for a longer period than expected – two weeks after its announcement previously.
The Space Agency said it was able to control the table because it chose to switch the Dragon Crew Dragon Spacex that she would use to develop its 10 mission, which will now be launched as soon as March 12 “is awaiting preparation for the mission.” The new date could put the days of the return for Williams and Wilmore before the specified date, as the space agency said it was targeting Late March.
Crew-10 astronauts should reach the International Space Station before Williams and Wilmore, who are currently appointed to the Crew-9 mission, can complete their role in the orbits laboratory and return to Earth.
The Crew-9 spacecraft, the dragon freedom that it currently establishes on the space station, can “return to Earth several days after delivery with the crew of 10 of the 10 crew,” according to a statement issued by the US Space Agency.
This announcement comes after the CEO of Spacex El Musk and President Donald Trump planted confusion about the situation of astronauts in Starliner and tried to claim credit for their return on a Spacex capsule – a plan that was in place months ago.
In jobs on X, Musk said the social media platform in 2022, and Musk said that Trump ordered him to bring Williams and Wilmmore to the house “as soon as possible.”
“We’ll do that,” Musk mail Read. “Biden administration has left them there for a long time.”
But NASA officials announced in August plans to restore Williams and Wilmmore using a SpaceX vehicle – before mentioning Musk or TOMP task.
NASA was expecting to use the newly built Dragon Crew Dragon capsule to launch Crew-10 in February, but in December, the Space Agency revealed that the mission teams need “additional time to complete” on the Spacex capsule. For this reason, the date of the return of Williams and Wilmmore Crowe-from February 9 to late March.
With the most recent plans announced by NASA, however, the agency will instead benefit from the Dragon Endurance crew, which had previously transferred three missions, the last of which was the Crew-7 mission that returned to Earth in March 2024 after a seven-month residence at the space station .

Boeing Starlener’s extended staff mission
William and Wilmmore have been at the space station since last June. The couple experimented with the opening mission of the Starlener spacecraft in Boeing, and witnessed a rock trip to the space station. Astron’s astronauts were scheduled to spend about a week in the orbits laboratory.
After Starliner arrived at the space station, NASA and Boeing worked for weeks to better understand problems – including helium leakage and payment issues – which were plagued at the first station of the test trip.
NASA eventually decided that he was very risked to return Starlener with a crew. William and Wilmmore have since become official members of the satellite station staff where they are waiting for their return with the other members of the Spacex Crew-9 mission and NASA astronaut Nick The Hague and Roscosmos in Alexander Gorbonov.
The Crew-10 mission that will reduce Williams and Wilmmore include their long stay in the low-Earth oriental astronauts, NAS MacLean and Nicole Aires, Japan’s spacecraft leaders Takoya Unishi, and Rossocosmos for the Kirill Peskov means.
