Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook retires a legend after 25 years, 4 national titles
John Cook, a ladies volleyball coach in Nebraska, who won four national championships and more than 700 games in 25 seasons, announced his retirement on Wednesday, and Luisville coach Danny Buboum Kelly won the title behind him.
Cook, 68, in Nebraska in 2000 after seven years in Wisconsin and ended with an ordinary number of 883-176. The percentage of winning.
In addition to winning the national title in 2000, 2006, 2015 and 2017, Cook led Cornhuskes to 12 of the NCAA semi -finals, nine Big 12 titles and five Big Ten championships. Busboom Kelly, who was born in the nearby Cortland, played in Nebraska from 2003-06 and was assistant under Cook from 2012-16. She was appointed as a major coach in Louisville in 2017, won four championships of the Atlantic Coast Conference and led the Cardinals to two of the last three NCAA title. It was 203-44 in eight seasons. Luisville, assistant coach Dan Misski will take over.
Buboom Kelly, 39, Liebero was in the 2006 National Championship team in Nebraska and was an aid when he won the 2015 National Championship.
