New Lakers star Luka Dončić calls trade from Mavericks ‘a big shock’

Lakers Luka Donic on Tuesday, and the American Professional League star expressed the shock of the rest of the basketball world about the trade that brought him to Los Angeles of Dallas.

“You can imagine how surprising me,” Donic said at his preliminary press conference. “I was almost asleep. When I received a call, I had to verify it was the first of April. I really didn’t believe it at first. It was a big shock. It was difficult moments for me.”

The Lakers team acquired Dončić on Saturday, opposite the Anthony Davis striker and the first round. They also sent goalkeeper Gallin Hood Shevno to Jazz Utah in a three -team deal.

Dončić is launched in a season in which MAVERICKs led to the American Professional League Finals. In his career, an average of 28.7 points per game, the third highest in the history of the American Professional League. The average score in the qualifiers of 30.9 points for each game is second after Michael Jordan.

“Luca Donic joined Los Angeles Lakers is a seismic event in the history of the American Professional League,” said Rob Bilinka, General Manager of Los Angeles. “When these two strong powers meet, it collects the joy of the world’s basketball.”

As much as the reason for the reason for the Maverx’s readiness to give up a 25-year-old star has already received five choices for the team in the American Professional League, Dončić-like most in the basketball community-was confused.

“This is their decision, so, I have no comment on it,” he said when asked about the Dallas front office. “They made the decision, I don’t know why.”

Dončić added: “I thought I would spend my entire career [in Dallas] Because loyalty is a big word for me, and I was trying to stand by that. “

Dončić has also dismantled speculation that he was not ready to sign an extension with MAVERICKS. This summer, Dončić was eligible to get a five -year contract with Dallas approaching $ 350 million in the salary.

When asked if he had been transferred to the team, he was not ready to sign the extension, Dončić shook his head and said, “Certainly no.”

Dončić was allocated in his first general comments with his new team. Although he has repeatedly expressed the excitement of joining one of the most unified privileges in the history of the American Professional League, he also said that the two days since the trade felt for months.

“Frankly, it was difficult, that first day was really difficult,” said Donic. “But every day it was better. I am very happy to be here for this opportunity.”

Bilinka explained that the trade occurred only after the issue was raised by the Director General of Marax Niko Harrison on the coffee in Dallas last month. Pelinka Harrison thanked in a statement, noting that the two had a relationship dating back to many years when Bilinka was an agent and Harrison was an executive in Nike.

Donnic said he had received a call from his new colleague LeBron James moments after welcoming the trade in Los Angeles.

The Slovenian refused to respond to the reports following the trade that drew his adaptation as a reason for Dallas’s desire to separate the roads, saying he wanted to take the high way. But Dončić admitted that concerns about his future are a “good motivation”.

When asked if he felt as if he had something to prove it, Dončić did not tend to words.

“It is clear,” he said. “Win a championship. You don’t come here for nothing except the tournament.”
