Real Madrid great Raúl ending his academy role to coach elsewhere

Madrid (AP) – The great Real Madrid Raul Gonzalez leaves his role as a coach at the Youth Academy at the club.
Raul, 47, spent seven years in the academy and trained many youth teams in the 2018-19 season. Under 19 years helped win the Youth League in 2020.

“Raul informed the club of his decision to end his time as a coach at the Youth Academy,” Madrid said on Tuesday.
“Real Madrid is proud to have one of the greatest myths in our history and world football as a coach and coach at our Youth Academy. Raul also represents all Real Madrid values. The values that he also went as a coach.”
Raul said he enjoyed the mission, which made him “grow as a professional and a person.”
“I would like to thank my life club for this opportunity that I gave me,” Raul said. “A new stage begins in my life as a coach outside this club, with certainty that I will finally return to this place that will always be my home.”

Raul starred in Madrid as a player from the late 1990s to 2010, and with Spain until 2006.
The club added: “Raul will always be in the hearts of all Madrid, and Real Madrid will always be his home.”
Madrid B team is scheduled to be trained by former player Alvaro Erbilo.
