NY AG Letitia James Reminds Trump She Plans to Uphold the Law by Protecting Lawbreakers – Twitchy
As we promised during the campaign, and again soon after he took office, Trump’s Department of Homeland Security and Justice Department will do just that. Take responsibility Any local officials who interfere with efforts to enforce federal immigration laws:
The Justice Department has ordered federal prosecutors to investigate state or local officials they believe are interfering with the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration, saying they could face criminal charges, in a clear warning to dozens of so-called sanctuary jurisdictions across America.
The memo, issued by Acting Deputy Attorney General Emile Boff, signals a sharp shift in priorities for President Joe Biden’s Democratic administration, with the Justice Department’s civil division being asked to identify state and local laws and policies that “threaten to impede” the Trump administration’s immigration efforts. And maybe challenge them in court.
Despite Trump’s plan to secure the border and deport illegal criminals, New York Attorney General Letitia James pledged to defend those who violated the laws. Why? Because she wants to uphold the law, or something like this:
New York has laws that protect immigrants and limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement efforts.
These laws should be followed by law enforcement and officials in our state.

James’s position is no different from that of Biden, Harris, and Mayorkas who created the problem: they view those who try to uphold the law as the problem and those who defend lawbreakers as “defenders of democracy.” This is about to change.
