Old oil paintings are suffering from chemical “acne”

WChicken The drawing and finishing have been dried, it is supposed to remain this way. However, when Ida Bronkin, a preservation of art, began preparing the “Gene Paul Ripyl -Raoukil” to display in 2006, I noticed that wet paint drops were flowing on the fabric from the depth of the layers of diseases. On the same amount of strange, small, solid white blocks flowed across the surface of the painting, as if they had a state of teenage acne. Other sections looked soft and wet. Bronkin says that some of the paint layers were disintegrated “like two pieces of butter bread.”
