Parking space-sized gardens impress Hampton Court flower show judges | Environment

The mini council, which fits within the parking space, was presented by a council at the Hampton Court Flower exhibition as part of a campaign to make public spaces less focused on cars.

Three gardens created by the Sari County Council are displayed in the exhibition to demonstrate that the areas used as parking spaces can give more benefit to society if they are carefully designed as miniature.

The project, which won a silver medal in the exhibition, used a 2.4 -meter car parking space for each of the gardens, which will be transported through valley. They contain easy -to -maintenance plants such as jasmine shrubs, useful features such as chess and seats and gravel paths surrounded by fertilized flowers.

Judges said it was “amazing smart” to create gardens in such small public spaces. They said that the garden creates a feeling of being out of the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Designers say they are trying to move from the first urban design of the car to the creation of “Surrey’s healthy streets”. They have a box worth two million pounds to create these mini -fishermen throughout the province instead of parking spaces.

“We are trying to encourage people to want one of these in their vicinity. While we can build and install it, we then need volunteers to preserve it. A year,” said Helen Curie, a specialist in places in the council.

One of the parks, which will be transported to Walton-ON-THAMES, has farmers with built-in seats and table with chess panel. It has plants that have proven to be absorbed street pollution including Cotoneasster, trees including Pansi forests and the field of the shade. They also created the rain park, which will be transferred to Cranileight, which contains restrictions with gaps that allow water to run on the road to the cultivated area. It contains waterproof plants such as Sage and MasterWort, as well as a birch tree that can handle wet conditions and drought seizures alike.

The third garden of birds and people is designed, with a bird for birds that collect rain water and the integrated pedestrian sitting. It is characterized by jasmine housing that provides shade. This will be transferred to the city center of Gildford.

“We are working with society to develop a comprehensive solution that does not focus only on one side: the car. Many of our city centers have become more orientation towards service, instead of focusing on retail sale, and therefore it should be more invited to people, and encouraging people to interact with each other and spend time in nature.”

Curie added that the construction of parks between parking places was more comprehensive: “It appears that not only one person driving a car, but also provides a person who may not be able to walk so far, which may be able to walk to one of these, sit, and comfort, then continue their journey on the foot, which is a much better message.”

They said that people interested in using parking places in their local areas for these mini youngsters should contact their local council, some of whom enjoy funding for these projects.

“There was definitely for a period of time when we only wanted to take care of the car and car drivers, while we may never get rid of cars, all of them, but let’s make it a more beautiful place that people do not have to drive, and they can walk, or they can do a mixture of both, on the way to the place they will go to.”
