‘The Office’: Even after 20 years, Pam and Jim still make us swoon

The physical souvenirs, Gina Fischer, have become one of her years, which made the “Office” comedy series, which first appeared in NBC 20 years ago, and has become an invaluable artifact from a dear time that was now preserved on the screen for future generations.

In the re -imagination of the British exhibition created by Ricky Gervis, Fisher played the role of Bam Pesley, the gentle receptionist but brave with technical aspirations.

While discussing these souvenirs during the last Zoom interview, I asked Fischer about tea-pot The charming high seller Jim Halbert (played by John Krasinski) gives Bam in the first season of the first season as the secret gift of Santa.

“John got a tea jug! How is this logical? But I got a Donide,” says the actress walking to a different angle of the room to seize the statues given by Michael Scott (Steve Carrell), regional director of the dunder miflin scranton, granting PAM.

“I have both [Dundies]For the longest sharing and white shoes. “I kept a set of things. I kept one of the treasures of Bam and one of her shirts. I kept her watch, a wallet for her, and kept the necklace that she wore for the Jim and Pam wedding,” says Fischer.

The list is long, and each element between its “small treasures”, including a medal made of yogurt cover and paper clips from “” “Office Olympics“The episode is a tangible reminder of the importance of this period for Fischer.

“I kept this pen that was on her office. It didn’t even work, but I kept it.” Then it indicates another memorial gift that survived an accident. “This cup was a Pam Cup in the show, and in the ninth season, it fell from the office and broke. But the crew knew that I wanted to take it, so they returned it together for me. I couldn’t use it, but I have.”

By email, Krasinski swings to how he gets the color of the color of the color that is envied by Pam and Jim.

“I got out of me! Yes, I have a tea jug, which I realized it is completely souvenir,” says Krasinski, who is writing during production on a coming project. “It actually came to me by Promstance where Master Perm Perm Perm Shea has a box of supports for some time after we wrapped.”

But just like Fisher, this is not the only “office” to taste in his possession.

“[Phil sent] Krasinski added that the things he believed I wanted to get, and it was a real treasure box with my bag from the show, and my name from my office, until the version of “Jimmy Halbert’s adventures”.

These elements are also symbolic of narrow relationships that have evolved throughout the offer. When Xia died in 2023, Fischer said that the staff and crew met with a memorial. She says they are often communicating: “We have the topic of” office “. We get email messages from Greg Daniels, a truly private community of people, and we will be slaughtered for life.”

Initially, in 2005, no person could have expected the legs in which the width would grow, but Krasinski knows exactly when he realized that the “office” would be its penetration. “I remember the moment clearly,” says the actor, who was not transferred to Los Angeles between the chapters.

“I went back to New York, I was walking on the street and a man looked at me, and pulled the earphones from his head and said:” Hey … You are on my iPod! “And I grabbed it at that moment, I am sure my mind melts.” For anyone, I was trying to understand what Ipod was, just as it was just going out. Second, on a 2 x 2 screen … my face. I remember I was thinking that many had just changed. “

Since the ninth show and The final season was broadcast in 2013Krasinski created himself as a prolific and successful film director with “The”Quiet“Films while expanding his horizons on behalf.

But so far it is too late, he cannot fully understand the reason for the “office” that strongly includes a pop culture. “I think we are all in a power,” says Krasinski.

Fischer believes that one of the reasons that made the show has withstood the time test is that the relationships were designed to feel authentic for anywhere and not only for those who have office jobs.

“We have a lot of younger fans who have never worked in an office and are still in school, and some office relationships can simulate some of your relationships in the classroom,” says Fischer. “Maybe in the class, you are sitting next to someone who leads you to nuts, or you have a teacher who thinks he is a really comic actor.”

As for the reason that the love story of Pam and Jim still makes viewers close, Fischer is partially attributed to the coordination of the fabric exhibition, which allowed them to show “stolen moments” where people descend. “You are watching romantic flowers. This is what makes you directly in the intestine,” she says. “This is something that has not been taken much in movies and television.”

Above all, as you think, the root of the masses for them to get to know what they feel towards each other because this type of mutual love is what most people yearn for.

“You always hope to find and marry your best friend, the person who looks at you in the way Jim looks at Bam, or the way Bam looks at Jim,” explains Fisher. “In those early seasons, we pick up a lot of their longing for each other. Everyone wants to yearn for this way in which each other is eager.”

Fisher did not escape away from Dunder Miflin. In 2019, she and the star of Angela Kinsey, who played the role of Angela Martin in the exhibition, launched the podcast.Ladies of the officeOver the past five years, they have re -watched all 201 episodes of the show to share explicit tales behind the scenes.

“There was a desire to return the favor to the masses. Since we cannot give them any new episodes of the show, we thought we could at least provide new visions,” she says. “It was also a way to honor our crew who worked hard and their contributions.”

For Fischer, this exercise presented a review of old memories a new opportunity to work with Kinsey. “One of the great gifts in my life was to find my best friend in the show, and go to work every day with someone I trust a lot and grabbed him a lot,” she says.

Although the show was often photographed in Los Angeles, the two friends are planning to visit The Real Scranton, Pennsylvania, for a special episode of podcasts, where they will take a tour of meaningful locations (such as a statue Giant Dundy in the city hallCooper seafood home.

While some actors may feel burdened because of their constant association with a successful project and they want to leave behind, Fischer never felt this contradiction. When she moved to Los Angeles from St. Louis in the late 1990s, Fischer remembers, hoping that one day she would be part of the band’s comedy show that will continue. The actor now has more than this goal.

Fischer is now a selling author thanks to her book “The Office BFS: Tales of” The Office “is one of the best friends there were” (participated in his writing with Kinsey). Moreover, the ongoing podcast was a great success since it appeared for the first time.

In the future, as soon as her children grow up, Fisher wants to do more theater. But even if her role in this offer that has ended has long been all it was, that will be enough.

“I wanted to play a role that touched people’s hearts, and I did it with Bam and” office “. How many bites in the apples I need?” Fisher says. “I don’t mind if I always remember to be Bam Pesley. Nothing will make me more severe.”

However, Fischer does not believe that the show should return, even if it is possible to return the actors’ team. You think the characters have been sent to their lives beyond the Dunder Miflin and find a way to assemble them will be a challenge.

“Before I watched the show, I was one of the people who were all for us to return and revive the show,” she confessed. “But now that I have re -viewed it, I think we should leave it as it is. I don’t think we should open it backup.”

Of course, the fans will always be curious about the fate of the characters who spent a lot as they spent. When asked whether he believed that Jim and Bam are still together in the world of “The Office” throughout these years, Krasinski answers with loved certainty.

He said, “Oh, I know that. They got a great house outside Austin, where they liked to raise their children.” “Bam found a crowd of wonderful arts in Utah, and they may have infiltrated a night on the date while we were talking, and wrestled with what wanders and sits in the garden next to the bridge waiting for flying.”
