PCIE 7.0 specifications have now been released, while many of us are still waiting PCIE 6.0 to achieve In consumer products. PCI Special Group (PCI-Sig) announced on Wednesday that PCIE 7.0 is now available For members of its organization, providing the top theoretical domain speed of 512 GB per second, via X16 connection.
“PCIE technology has been a high-basic IO connection, choice for more than two decades, and we are happy to announce the issuance of PCIE 7.0 specifications, which continue our long traditions of doubling the IO domain every three years,” said PCI-Sig. “With the continued expansion of artificial intelligence applications rapidly, the next generation of PCIE technology meets the requirements for the intensive market markets that spread artificial intelligence, including high -performance data centers, HPC, cars, army/space.”
You may have noticed that consumer computing devices have not been included in this statement-the specifications target data-based applications such as cloud and quantitative computing centers at the present time, and will take some time to appear in those markets. PCI-Sig says that PCIE 7.0 will be compatible with previous PCI Express versions, but there is no mention of plans to bring them to SSDS Desktop everyday or GPU any time soon.
