The sinister psychology at the heart of populism | Politics

George Monteau (The populists will continue on the right to win until we understand this fact about human nature, April 13) It makes some important points about the psychology of those who follow Dimguejz and right -wing populist leaders. But this knowledge is not new. After the horrors of the rise of the Nazis and the persecution by the Jews and other minority groups before and during the Second World War, psychologists, and many of them began the Jews, methodically studying the origins of this hatred. One was Henry TajvilleA Jew born in Poland, his family was killed by the Nazis.
Tajville was primarily interested in the identity of the group, the longing of the terms in the group and the external. More importantly, to understand our time, Tajville’s work helped show that we are not only working for him, and we test the group’s successful success (familiar to any football club), but, we will work more evil, try, try, and try, as he put it, to a lesser extent.
This, I think, is psychology that supports the rise of intense right populism around the world. Those who want to face this must understand the psychology that he pushes better.

George Monteop is right to highlight the nature of erosion for inequality and how to undermine democracy and nourish the rise of popular right. However, it ignores two important sides.
First, it focuses on inequality in income and disparity between the rich and the poor – but inequality is a more complex phenomenon. In fact, there are many cross -equality: sex, health, disability and race are two decisive things in determining luxury. Second, it is surprising that it does not mention the causal ties between inequality and the crises of nature and the climate. Without treatment of inequality, we cannot find effective, sustainable and fair solutions for these crises.
As Montet notes, the current political system does not treat inequality systematically or from its roots. Many of its actions exacerbate the problem. Fortunately, a new political party, Equality Partyany It opened for membership this yearIt aims to face this increased inequality. Seeing it is a more comprehensive and fair society with various voices in decision -making at all levels.

George Montet and Bolly Toynbee overlapped on the same day (It has been done properly by BRISHISH Steel – now it must accelerate a radical strategy for all industry, April 13) Make reading but convincing. A The last speech Written by Bernie Sanders in the United States is in harmony with the list of issues that seem very painful for the two politicians mentioned. It shows that this is because policy may be poisoned by large funds.
In this country, exhaustion The government’s strategy has been sentenced from the beginning with the assumption that the redistribution is unimaginable, so growth is the only way to move forward. This fails for two reasons: growth does not occur, but also any growth returns that are moved by the very wealthy, leaving the rest of us (as Monteet explains) abroad looking. The rise resulting from support for extremist right -wing leaders seems to be inevitable, and it seems that the Labor Party is tending to defeat in the upcoming elections if it does not change.
