Pirates legend Dave ‘Cobra’ Parker died shortly before Hall of Fame induction

One of the most beloved characters in Petsburg pirate History, Dave Parker, died, MLB concession confirmed on Saturday. It was 74.

Parker, known as affection as “The Cobra”, was named to seven MLB Al-Star Teams. He raised more than 2,700 visits and hit 339 Homer during his career in the Grand League.

It was honored in the MVP National League for its prominent season of 1978.

While he was famous for his assumption of pirates, Parker was also advancing with Cincinnati Reds, Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers and two other MLB clubs.

Parker was a major part of the world pirate team in 1979. He was also a member of the 1989 World Athletics Championship team.
