Kyle Larson still searching for elusive triple-header sweep: ’Really tough feat to do’

Kyle Larson He knew going to Homstead-Miami Speedway Weekend that he would have an opportunity to accomplish a great race.
Competition in the three Nascar The National Series, Larson had the opportunity to sweep a three -head weekend of the heads a truckand xfinity And cup races.
Only one driver did that, and this Kyle BushWho did this in Bristol in 2010 and then again in 2017.
“I think you can consider it a kind of things,” said Larson heading to the weekend. “It is a really difficult achievement.”
Larson discovered how difficult it is because, in the end, the race gods decided that this would not be the weekend. But he will likely not argue much about how things work.
He won the truck race on Friday because of Spire Motorsports with an incredible gathering, after I was in the final stage. After that, Larson seemed to wander around the Xfinity victory on Saturday, when the late caution has restarted the additional work.
Sam Mayer I entered the back of Larson in restarting, and Larson ended with the fourth disappointing.
However, he still crowns the weekend in an amazing way, chasing his teammate Alex Bowman To win.
“I felt very disappointed yet [Xfinity] race [but] I woke up this morning. Motivated. But fine [and] Larson said about his mentality.
Perhaps this was the case, but Larson also indicated that he might not take the best positions in the cup race. In fact, he said that he felt that he entered the race with an immature position around the race on a tendency and a half, as it was known to dominate the ability to operate the high line with the fence.
“I just wanted to take the green flag and kick the ass for everyone,” Larson said after the victory. “I wanted to get the lead early and to control as I was [in Xfinity].
“Then the green flag flew, and it was the opposite.
So Larson left a proud house by winning the cup race. He had to grind it and return, even if it was not the way he imagined. Of course, he may also not imagine a hole in his exhaust system, thanks to his connection Josh Perry On the hole.
However, with Larson, adversity appears to pay. Perhaps his own mistakes (such as Friday’s rotation) feed him more. The fact that he knows that he is very good in Homstaad makes him realize that he has never left him.
So Larson leaves Homestead content, knowing that he won a victory in a path where he sees victory often.
“I am proud of myself because of overcoming this immature mentality before the race and drilling its depths to stay in it because it was not a typical house for me,” Larson said. “I have never been able to get the initiative to really concern, as I usually lead all the windings that do not care except for the last.
“I am just proud that we were able to keep our heads in it.”
This will not be the last time Larson in an attempt to sweep the weekend. He will try again within a few weeks in Bristol, which is a path where it also works well but it cannot be said that it is not.
If this is not accomplished, then who knows when will he have another chance? The cup drivers are limited to five xFinity races and five truck races each year, and they cannot do the normal end of the season or the qualifying races in that series.
Because Larson loves enemy cars racing, getting a three -headed weekend where he can land on a truck and Xfinity trip and not run elsewhere for the race, it is not easy to make its date.
“You definitely want to see him as he accomplishes it because he deserves it,” said Geoff Gordon, Vice President of Hendrick. “It also explains how difficult it is to do.”
Larson knows that direct. He knows only one driver (Kyle Busch).
“Join him in something like this will be very special,” Larson said.
