South Carolina wildfire keeps growing as firefighters protect homes

A A big fire in South Carolina Mountains have doubled in all of the past three days. But the firefighting kits managed to keep the fire away from the structures.
Officials said on Friday that the firefighters fighting at the Rock Mountain Fire table focused on saving lives and property by digging fire breaks that pushed the fire north through the lands that are not developed on the hills of Pecins Province near the North Carolina state line. No injuries were reported.
Aircraft and helicopters have completed more than 550 tasks to drop water on the rock table and a second fire on Ridge Barsimon, about 8 miles away.
South Carolina Forster Phillips told a press conference on Friday at the Rock Startez table at the present time he is often defense in the Blue Ridge Mountains until the weather cooperates with rain or winds that reduce winds.
“With these fires and the conditions we face in the state at the present time – fuel dryness, very low humidity, and the strong winds we face – it is extremely difficult to contain containment,” said Philips.
Rock Rock and Barraimon Ridge fires burned about 17 square miles. Table Rock Fire began a week ago and doubled its size since Tuesday with the spread of stormy and dry conditions across the mountains.
In North Carolina, at least eight fires were burning in the mountains. It became the biggest – Black Cove and Deep Woods Fire in Polk Province – more contained. They burned about 10 square miles combined, but hardly slept this week.
Although these fires have received the most interest, the forest fire season was already busy thanks to the drought and Hurricane Helen six months ago knocking millions of trees. Fallen trees act as fuel and prevent firefighters trying to reach fire.
“It will be a continuous problem in the next few years. It will change the way we have to attack fires in the South Carolina Mountains,” Philips said.
Firefighters who were helping the government forestry committee have 373 fires in South Carolina, which burned more than 28 square miles in March.
“This is more in size than we usually do within one month- more than we do in some years as much as the number of burning acres,” Phillips said.
April is usually the worst month for ground fires and long -term predictions that do not show much changing conditions.
“This will be a long season for us,” said Philips.
An outdoor burning in place for more than a week in South Carolina. The officials did not provide any indicator when they were raised.
The state governor, Henry McMaster, reminded the people that the violation of the ban on the burning can mean the time of prison, and a fire started even through neglect can leave a person on the hook for everything damaged.
McMaster said: “The fire begins and your neighbor’s house is burned at the bottom – you owe them a house,” McMaster said.
Weather forecasts for the weekend have encouraging news. The quiet wind is predicted overnight, and the rain must fall on Sunday and Monday, although the national weather service does not predict a kind of firefighters they want.
McMaster said about the fires: “We will take it out.” “We hope to put some rain, and we have some help. Everyone put it in your prayers.”
